My god, he must be playing well when Marc Berman has nice things to write
But it's really Stephon Marbury infusing the Knicks back to life and Brown raved about him. Since the Orlando fiasco 10 days ago when Marbury played like a zombie, he's strung together three straight bangup games and heard rousing cheers when taken out with 49.8 seconds left in the third period.

Marbury finished with 16 points and 11 assists with one turnover, a calming influence to his wild backcourt mate Nate Robinson, who had five turnovers in the first half.

"Steph was great, he controlled he game, got the ball to the right people," Brown said. "Every shot he took was a good one. And one turnover for a guy who has the ball the whole time?"
When you look at the personel on this team its perfect for Marbury to flourish. Frye has a superior jumper, Nate is establishing himself with the 3 and we have a bunch of bigs that can finish around the basket.

This is very similar to how Marbury was playing in Pho the year they almost upset the Spurs and Tony Parker called him the guy he least liked playing against. Hopefully seeing is believing. The schedule could help us string some wins together here along with the good play

marbury has been a rock for us over the last 3 games. i don't think there's any disputing that. absolutely superb. based on the last 3 games, my view on wanting to move him is still a philosophical one based on his contract and our cap situation for the future. but based on his play, it's tough to make a case for moving him. with that said, it's a good start to the new year and it needs to...HAS TO...continue.

i just wish it wouldn't take the fear of him being traded & being booed to motivate this guy to play this way & be the leader he was brought here to be... i love how he's stepped up his game... let's hope this is how he plays from here on out, but i'm not gonna hold my breath... it's hard for a leopard to change his spots.

look...when the team is motivated and is playing well, the players will always play with the effort that help them get to the position they're in

Until this time I was down on Marbs, but I believe he has turned around his attitude, which has made him a better leader and teammate at the same time, it's too bad this turnaround has put this team so far behind in the standings. It's a long season, so hopefully we can make up some ground during that time.

When he plays strong the Knicks are pretty good. But I don't think he's playing better cause he got booed, I think he's playing better cause he screamed at Larry about needing a regular rotation, now that one is in place, the Knicks and Steph look a whole lot better.

i've been led down this road before by Marbury... when he first got here, he looked great... playing unselfish ball, getting his teammates involved, gelling w/KVH when all the naysayers said they couldn't get along... i really believed him when he said that he'd matured & changed his ways... then he goes & makes that ridiculous "I'm the best PG in the league" comment, gets into scuffles w/KT, & you start seeing him reverting back to his old selfish ways & bad body language on the court capped off by that pathetic game vs. the Magic where he looked like he didn't want to touch the ball at all much less shoot or pass it to open teammates... the problems w/LB i don't put too much into, since LB clashes w/all of his PG's whereever he coaches... i just hope LB has the same effect on Marbury that he's had on AI & Billups when all is said & done.

The marbury i was expecting was the one who took the Spurs to the brink of elimination in the playoffs...I have been let down for most of his stay in NY. But lately I have seen him pick it up and I would really love to see this guy get into the playoffs with the solid pieces and coaching he has around him now.

I still believe in him, I want him to do well as I am sure all of you do - its just been a rough few seasons.

I'm not a big Marbury fan, but all season I've been willing to see what can happen with LB here. I agree that he's played very well recently. With him playing this way, I wouldn't want to see him traded, whatever I think of his attitude.

However, I still want to see if he can continue to play this way over a long stretch (win or lose).

he's moving the ball, picking his spots, and has a more positive attitude.. which all are feeding off. He's entering the ball into the post. This has everything to do with putting together the pieces of his game.. seeing the flow of the game... and Trusting his teamates.

Certainly credit has to be given to Marbury. But I would also give some to LB. This is what he does. He makes his players better.

after first sucking.

I feel that Jamal has gotten better, Mo Taylor has rediscovered some game, Nate has harnassed his energy a little more, David Lee was brought along at the right pace. And maybe this is the new and better Marbury.

Let's hope this is what Brown has in mind and he doesn't start Malik Rose tomorrow.

And this is what started to upset me about marbs, this guy has the talent to be just about anytype of player he wants to be, he just needs to allow himself to be taught to do things as a team, he can still get his shots, knowing when to take them is the key, but I am happy to see him play well, I was really starting to sour on the guy, I hope he keeps this up...

Marbs has been solid all year save for a few games.

The only thing that has changed is that guys are making their shots, playing better defense, and we are winning.

I hope it is the case that all the Knicks are improving, including Marbury.

Taming of the shrew!

Finally its about "the team". Not rah rah kinda of college stuff, but professionals workig toward a goal of playing together and having to trust each other while dealing with the pressure.

Reezy is in a contract year and walks the fine line. Its a life time fortune we talking about.

I knew a Pro hockey player and the stories of the bottom 3rd of the roster getting very few opportunities to shine and in fear of being sent down to the minors. Its like gettin at bats in the majors, no at bats, no hit, no career.

For Starbury, its perhaps clicking that his glory is in the hands of his team. No trust, no playoffs, no glory.

The other thing, larry is bigger than him, and for the first time he can't bitch slap his coach.
