oh man, we would get CRUSHED with the 8th seed vs Detroit, but boy would that make some fodder for the papers.

good, we're in good position to suprise teams
''We don't have the luxury to take anybody lightly,'' New York's Quentin Richardson said. ''We're not that good.''

if we make it back to the playoffs our second half will have to be so good that any team other than Detroit will not want to play us. Detroit will beat anyone. I hope we get into that position.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Yeah, its gonna be NJN vs NYK all over again! So much media coverage, the point guard angles, the TT-Martin controversy, the rivalry because of the area. So much was written and you hadn't even finished reading the papers and we just got swept.

thats not necesarily true, by the looks of the east right now we would have a pretty good chance of making the playoffs if we can get to .500 by the end of the season, in order to do that we would have to go 33-20 (.623) out of our remaining 53 games, we wouldnt have to be all that great, just pretty good. but knowing this knicks team I wouldnt count on any turn arounds happening.

Man you make 33-20 sound ordinary! I drool over the thought of that kind of stretch.

its not really all that great of a stretch, in other terms we would have to be about as good as the phoenix suns are now, they're pretty good but not all that good. denver and golden state and new jersey had some really good runs last year, we would have to do something sorta similar, though let the record show that I dont think we can do it.

I think we can compete with those teams if we can play as well as we played last game against phoenix, hmm maybe a little bit better than that.

funny, I remember beating Philly...

Orlando does own us. Too bad they have to play everyone else in the league to make the playoffs.

I think we have a shot at the playoffs. The talent is here. It's just a matter of staying healthy and developing a consistent rotation.

That would be a hell of a stretch.

The Suns are way better than than the Knicks. They have 2 players (Nash and Marion) who are better than our best player, and they will have Stoudamire a top 5 talent back in a few months (Though I think he would be smarter to sit out the season.), making that 3 players better than our best player.

We are 8/21 in the weakest conference in basketball, they are 19/11 playing in a better conference without their best player (In my opinion).

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

i said "as the phoenix suns are NOW" or in other words without stoudamire, the 19-11 suns, not the 22-4 or whatever they were last season at this point suns, and phoenix right NOW isnt really all that much better than us, they didnt win by very much the last time we played them, and the second time they played us they lost altogether. although on paper they are alot better than us.

I understand completely what you said. They still have 2 players better than our best right now. All their role players are pretty much as good or better than ours right now. And they have a much better record in a much better conference right now.

but we have a better record against the (stronger west) than against the east.
The problem with us going on a consistant run is we have too many incosistant players. Add to that the fact that we would have to rely so heavily on our rookies. The one glimer of hope we have is the teams directly ahead of us (Wash, Chic, Bos, Char) are all struggling almost as bad as we are.
