how better the ball moved with Nate & Crawford on the floor and Marbury on the bench? steals, fastbreaks, intensity, pride...

yeah but it could have been a coincidence though, remember the knicks played like isht for the first half in the philly game as well, but then turned it on in the second half, i believe marbury was in when that happened, the knicks are just very jeckel and hyde like, I'ts true the knicks went on a run when nate put some energy in the game, but I suspect that if it were nate and marbs, the same thing would have happened

Anyone notice how many games we waited to hear someone say this again? If you watch long enough, you will see what you wanna see.

Our offense ran well this game, offense had nothing to do with why we lost, it was defense.

What I saw was our 2's and 3's being abused and help defenders being forced leave their man wide open for 3;s which they made.

What I notice is how after one of our guards has a good game, it automatically means they run the point better than Steph.

NJ's 2 and 3 combined for 50 points.
Cliff Robinson had 16
Kristic 12
and J collins 9; all shooting very high percentages.

Thats what i notice.

brown made a very good point in the press conference, in the first 3 quarters, our defense was reacting instead of acting.

I think Steph has become a proxy for the fans' frustration.

That is the only plausible explanation.

To say he is why we lost is beyond stupid.

Knick fans know...........very little.

Sure, and I guess he dumped by NJ and Phoenix by accident.

Blue, of all the haters you often speak with the most logic, so I will pose this question to you:

Is Steph why we lost tonight? Did he do anything tonight where he deserved to be booed?

Killa, I can't totally break it down or prove it with stats, but think he brings the team down. I think he sucks the energy out of a room. He isn't an acknowledged leader, but I think all eyes of the team are on him. lenny and Isiah said this was Steph's team. His unwillingness or inability to play all out on both ends, hi's upset/confusion with LB, his dour moods, his bad relationship with the press... these all set a tone that the team feeds off.

I just don't think he's uplifting, and when that comes from your number 1 guy it's a problem.

Plus, the other guys are tight. Nate. JC, Q, Lee, Frye, Eddy are all buddies with chicago or Washington ties. They know they'll look for each other and just have fun. Steph hasn't appeared to have FUN for a long, long time.

Marbury isn't the reason we lost, but he should try to bring the kind of energy in the first 3 Qtrs, that Nate did alone in the 4th Qtr, Steph's body language is too mopey, too indifferent and he doesn't play very smart not like Kidd, whom I despise but he leads his team with smart heady play.

I was about 8 rows back at the game and I noticed nobody was really talking to Marbury at any point during the game. I've been saying it from the beginning, Crawford looks a lot more dedicated to buying into larry brown's system, always communicating with him on the court, moving the ball and not forcing up too many shots. Marbury has two tools, the penetrate and dish or the pick and roll, and that basically stagnates the offense. A lot of players have struggled this year but Marbury has never been and, I believe, will never be the leader that a point guard must be. Guys like Crawford and even Nate were really hyping the team and in turn the crowd up. I'm not saying nate's a better point, but I do think crawford is a better fit at point guard with the team than marbury.

Jamal plays better when Marbury is not on the court. If you look at the game when Marbury was in foul trouble it was that same game that Jamal took over in the 3rd and 4th quarter. It looks like the days of depending on Marbury are going to be limited.

If people can't see that this team played better with Marbury on the bench then they don't want to see it.

I suppose Marbury wasn't on the court when Crawford dropped 31 on sonics? Or how about when crawfird burried the Bulls at the garden? Or, the game against the Jazz when nate was still inactive by the way?

The first three quarters, Marbury was the only one of the Knicks doing anything. Had 21 in 3 quarters, hit a couple of jumpers in a row in the first half. Went to the line. Only Frye helped out with a little of nate in the 2 quarter. You guys are reading too much into this. It wasn't Marburys fault that Robinson, Padgett and Jason were wide open and Vince was driving at will.

that is a good point blue, I watched the suns tonight, and boris Diaw while in Atlanta looked lost, confused and didn't look like he was having fun, atlanta had no leadership, little talent and a bad team. He goes to pheonix and all of that seems to change, tonight he had 31points and 11 boards, I am saying to myself, he just didn't get better by going to pheonix, something greater than just moving states had to take place. and it hit me, steve nash, he just brings a positve vibe to the team, everyone likes each other and feeds off one another, yet I look at our situaiton and I hear the guys say how much they love playing for a great teacher like LB and how much they respect Isiah Thomas. So what is our problem? I say lack of leadership, but just look at our team when, curry, frye, nate, craw, Q or lee is in the game, and add ariza, guys are looking for each other, they running hard, passing the ball, defending, to say that other teams are letting down against these guys is not fair, I think these guys really get after it. Marbs looks like he is having a good game, but honestly I think marbs is just in his own world when he is out there, to me that kills any good vibe that may exist on this team, you can see guys like AD trying to encourage him, but man, shouldn't it be the otherway around? guys see steph struggling, they see the fans are on his case, does that make for a positive atmoshphere? I don't think so at all..
