He was a very solid rebounder under Brown and even though we are short guards, Id like to get him out of here ASAP. He is NOT part of the plan here, it was kind of a reckless move because of the length of Q-richs$. I think we can bring KT back in, start him at 4 and bring his value back up with Frye backing him up.

I dont like that deal I think we should get our contracts to be shorter not longer, we dont really frontcourt help that much right now.

We don't need another power forward. I'd like to work Lee in at some point. QRich isn't as bad as he's been playing.

I understand the balance between front and backcourt is kind of skewed, but atleast for me, Kenny Thomas is a guy that has a real chance to regain that value in the right opportunity. Q-rich is a bad hand that I would like to fold.

Kenny is a solid player who can rebound, and score in the post, however right now I don't think he can help the team. We need a sf forward that can hit the deep three and play d.

I have always thought of Kenny as an in between player at the sf and pf.

value, doesnt necessarily mean we need to keep kenny thomas long term, and hes a better rebounder than anyone on the roster
. If we can start him and get him back to a 13-9 player, then at the end of the season when teams are begging for bigs, we have more oprtions.

Guys like Davis Rose Taylor are all sht waiting to be moved out of gotham. My intentions wouldnt be to keep KT for 5 years, my intentions are to get his big man value back up, get us a younger more athletic rebounder who can start and play D and getting Q-rich oUT OF TOWN.

this would leave us with a GAPING hole at the sg/sf spot. you could argue that q1 is himself a gaping hole but you get the point.

as each day goes by, the worse and worse that KT deal looks.

OK, so the KT deal never goes through. Now what do we do? We STILL have a gaping hole at the SG/SF spot. I'd rather have Nate and Q and a gaping hole than KT and a gaping hole. Not to mention, Isiah might not even have drafted Lee if we already had KT. I'd do that KT trade 9 times out of 10, with the 10th time being a mistake.

yup, but now we have a pretty damn good frontcourt with KT + curry starting with frye and AD off the bench. not having a KT type player here is really killing us.

hey, i was for the trade also...but it's pretty apparent that q1 was overvalued and nate may not have a true role for us for more than 15 mins a night. all for the price of a solid two-way player that could still help. we can look back in hindsight no problem. but we're also not getting paid millions to say, oh well, hindsight is 20/20.

and maybe with KT in the fold, we don't run out a get jerome...

Q is a way better player than what he's showing on the court. He's playing some good defense and he's rebounding the ball but his shot isn't falling. That will come. I can't remember a player getting WORSE shooting wise as their career went on. When Q's shots start to fall this trade will look great. As for Nate... he may not have a significant role right now but hey, trading chips are always nice. I'm not saying we should trade Nate because I think he'll be a good player but even if he doesn't fit on our team, another team will want him.

his fg% has really been on a downward trend over his career.

i'm not saying he stinks. he's a volume shooter, as stated by his own GM in bryan colangelo. we need high % shooters/scorers, not volume ones.

This was a bad trade fromthe word go. Never liked it. I agreed the knicks neede to move Kurt, but not for an undersized sf. Even at the 2G, he shoots 37 percent and isn't even better than Craw. Could live without Nate to. He's a nice spark plug, be will not be a major factor in our rebuilding. He's a change of pace 10-15 min a night guy.

Isiah should have waited it out. Dallas always wanted Kurt, GS needs a big man, so does Chicago, Nets, ATl, and Denver..

Did he suck when he put up 15/6 on a 62 win team last year? Even if you don't like many aspects of Q's game, you cannot run a team successfully by selling low. Wait 'til Q returns to his normal numbers before trading him.

Cut and run. Its not selling low, its realizing you want to get some kind of reasonable value while you are primarily adding by subtraction.
Ill trade for a 2nd ound pick and an ending contract, but no one is buying. KT =same cash--get rid of Q ASAP.

omg!

I loved & defended KT and I wish him the best- but don't look at this deal as a Q for KT- look at it as a KT for Nate with Q as filler!

If/when nate puts it together, you'll forget about Q.

Q has been lost- is he depressed- probably; taking a while to adjust to his new team- a little; hurt- possibly; suffering from Tim Thomasitis- quite possibly.

If a good deal game, move him- he hasn't helped us and maybe he is not mentally tough enough for ny!

What does last year have to do with this year? Wasn't he playing under completely different conditions last year with an MVP PG? And who's to say that Q's numbers return to his "normal"? What if he is on the downside of his career and 15/6 under optimal conditions is as good as he'll ever produce again?
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System
