Don't see this anywhere so I figured I'd post it. Good to see that Zeke is still looking to bring in a solid PG who should be able to play well for Brown.

Bergen Record - Denver point guard Earl Watson, still little-used behind Andre Miller and Earl Boykins, remains on the Knicks' radar screen and is eligible to be traded Thursday, the first day members of last summer's free-agent class can be dealt.

The Nuggets are again shy up front with Kenyon Martin leaving another game this because of his ongoing knee problem. Watson is a salary-cap match with backup center Jerome James and a close one with forward Malik Rose.

Malik for Watson makes alot of sense for both teams. This deal should get done.

I think richardson, and butler, for watson and hodge, makes more sense. I dont think us NY fans are the only ones that realize that rose sucks.

EDIT: come to think of it though, richardson has a back issue.....

I don't think Q gets traded so soon after his brother was shot. Yes, it's a business, but that kind of move would be terrible for the locker room, would be torn apart by the press, and would likely get a bad reaction from the fans. Q stays for now, I think.

How does MoT for Watson fit?

Watson for James or Rose is money for us, but what are the realistic chances of that. Earl's an excellent reserve PG, and I have no idea why he signed in Denver.

I agree, Watson is pretty good to be getting no playing time in Denver.

Not that we are losing anything but, if James is gone, who will be our backup C? Can Frye be it? Do you think Francisco Elson is worth bringing back along with Watson?

I'm ok with some combination of Frye and Butler playing behind Curry. I already see Butler as being better than Elson. I'm very high on his potential.

at the end of the day, earl watson is a role player and NOTHING special. but he can be a valuable member of a playoff team. imho, he's not a starting pg but he can help.

i agree he's not a starting point guard, but on a team like this you don't need a superstar point. look at philly when snow was there w/brown, watson is also a better shooter than snow.

we have to be a little careful tho. watson has a pretty long contract, through 09/10. that's a LONG TIME. i'd rather not take back a player like earl watson for that many years. i'd take a mike james or even sign mike james to a 2 year deal in the offseason instead of committing all those years to a guy like earl UNLESS we dump an equal type of salary like big game or a bigger deal in a package with marbury.

Guys like Watson are easy to trade down the line though, it seems teams are always looking for a point guard.

Antonio Daniels.

he seems not to fit in with what they are doing. They need a 4th pf.

Rose for Daniels

the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

why would we want daniels, we need a SF and a PG. not another SG. besides daniels has sucked so far this year, not that rose hasnt but still, you know what I mean.

ummm I'm talking about Antonio Daniels not Marquis. Antonio is very much a point guard who happens to be big enough to guard 2's. He is pass first and up until this season he has shot the ball well.

whose minutes would be diminished if we traded a big for daniels or watson. you already have marbs, nate, JC, and Q demanding decent minutes, one would have to be moved to make room, as i would hate to see nates' minutes reduced. wouldnt mind moving Q somehow, since nate seems better at the 2.
