I know it was only 5 minutes or something. The guy is HUGE. Didn't realize it. And still out of shape. And a black hole. But I think if he can round into shape and play within the offense, he could be HUGE for the Knicks for 10-15 minutes.

if eddy curry comes back healthy and plays 30 mins a night. that leaves 18. the real question is would you like those minutes to go to jerome or jackie?
as i shake my head...imagine this team if we made the curry deal and used the MLE on james jones. sometimes patience is a good thing, especially when it's for a career 15 min player.

yeah, good point. I guess we can all hope that Big Game starts to play well and we send him packing in a expiring contract dumping trade.
Jackie did look good in the game tonight.

I'ts a nice problem to have. The undrafted "free first round pick" versus the free agent signee who won't be a bust after all. Go with James as backup C. If he's having a bad game put in Butler.

I'm thinking James can have a role. He is a space eater who has value against the bigger, slower, teams. He can be like our Louis Dampier. When we get to the Conference Finals against Shaq he can play him head on and hold his own. And foul it in 10 minutes.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

We're gonna be much better when we can run Curry, James and Butler at people. James needs to practice more, but he's lost a lot of weight since camp and did have an impact. Jackie needs minutes, and Curry needs to get back. We're gonna be a pretty good team soon.

my hope for James is the Deke factor we had a couple years ago. Remember how there were nights he was useless or didnt even get into the game? But there were also nights where he was swatting shots left and right and really having a big impact?
thats my hope for JJ. Not worth what we signed him to be but thats OK.. its something tangible that helps us win games.
One thing... when you see him, and when you consider that we had no center and at the time he was brought in to fill that gap you see just how bad a signing it was.
Anyway I hope he gets in shape because he CAN have a good impact. Hopefully he doesnt kill any of his own guys in the process. Anyone see Marbury take a shot to the head? Ouch

I really wish I had some tape of last year's Sonic-Sac playoff series. I would like to see what Isiah saw.
I really hope James helps Curry in practice and that those guys go at it. Sometimes with an offenseive talent like Curry you need a big ol banger to go at him.

I know that Jerome James had a 15 point game agains the spurs last year but he also had a 4 point game, James looks like he can be pretty useful if he can just go strethes were he doesnt pick up a foul every 10 seconds

I haven't seen JJ play much, but I was at JJ's big game in the playoffs last year vs. San Antone. Game 3, Seattle wins a tight one, Jerome pops for 18 or 20 on very high % "shooting," mostly on dunks off pick 'n rolls w/Antonio Daniels or Ray Allen. His big asset seemed to be quick feet for a man his size -- quick to the rim, quick to get off the ground, and enough hops to throw 'em down. Strong on D too. Seeing him that night you'd never believe his career stats were so weak. He CAN do this -- but obviously has never done it consistently.

I think JJ just needs a coach to believe in him and push him to do his best instead of going on past history and expecting the worst from him. I say give him a chance to prove that he is worth that fat contract.
