Peja has already said he is leaving. It would have to be a sign and trade and/or we'd have to take Kenny Thomas and offer an expiring contract. Peja could be perfect here as he isn't the star, but he is pretty soft and we could do long term damage to our squad getting a guy like him AND another contract.

Lamar Odom has not been the goods in LA with Kobe. They are not playing good basketball together and it may be time to put him on the block. I have no clue what they might want from us, aside from cap space and they really have no bad contracts. It seems almost impossible barring a 3rd team.

Hedo TurgoluHes like TT without the high expectations or crazy contract. Another 6-10 guy who gets 4 rebounds, but we could definitely use him. We could we offer? Q and cap space for grant hill, and i don't think thats enough. PLus if we get Grant hill, they have no real 3's. They'd have to want someone on our team and I can't see a fit. Maybe hedo for Q and Butler or Lee or Ariza, but Q isn't holding his weight right now so it could be hard. Plus their .500 and he's a big part of it.

Desmond MasonHe is averageing just 8 ppg and looking lost in NOK coming off the bench. He'd definitely start here, and we could use 10-12 from him a game and some solid defense. They need a backup PG and some beef in the middle. AD & Nate and/or Ariza for Desmond Mason and Pj brown, both whom have 2 years at 8 million. They need to sell some tickets, and they got a desmond Mason 7 years younger.

edit: Al Harrington Atlanta officially has the dumbest team ever constructed with 12 swingmen and 3 in the NBDL. They need a PG, and they need to clear up their glut. They have got to be kidding with Channing, but something should be able to be arranged that isn't to tough for either team.

The usual suspects
D. Miles
Ruben Patterson
Rashard Lewis
Ricky Davis

Some cheap options

Jumaine Jones
Rasual Butler

I'd like to give either of them a shot with us.

Forgot to add Al Harrington in there...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

1st of all..as gifted as a scorer peja is...i wouldnt want him...he doesnt play a lick of defense and in my eyes is overated as a player overall.

Odom is good at times, but horrible at others...he's a good 3rd option on a team, but sometimes he plays well enough to be a go to guy or 2nd option..when he's motivated heplays defense, plus he can handle the ball..i'd like to see him here, but i would be reluctant in giving up any of our young guys.

Turkoglu-i never liked his game, he's a good offensive player but defensively he goes through alot of lapses plus he sometimes plays soft

Mason - someone we should seriously look at..he can hit the midrange j, not consistently but he's also a good slasher and plays defense, i would want him ehre if we could get him.

Miles - Overated..he may be young, but he's too inconsistent...plays well one game, but dissappears the next, although this year he has been playing better on a consistent level.

Patterson - good defensive player, but horrible locker room influence..i know he wants to get outta here, but rememebr when he fought zach randolpoh and randolph broke pattersons eye socket lol

Lewis - i would give him a look..greatoffensive player, but his defense lacks at times, alothough he is tall..he doesnt play to his height, he rarely post ups when he should include it in his arsenal as he's 6-10 playing small foward.

Ricky Davis - reminds me of crawford and Q-rich, except he's more versatile than q-rich...if we get rid of q and get him i wouldnt mind, but if he was here with Q and craw..than i'd be puzzled.

Jones - good 3 point shooter and defender..havent seem much of him
Butler - good role player, not starting material
Harrington - tweener..is he a SF or PF...could guard some of the 3's in theleague while others can blow by him..same when he playsPF..he could guard some of the PF's but others would give him problems...offensively he isnt that bad either

Out of all the guys u mentioned, i would love desmond mason here...he's versatile, he can shoot the rock and drive..plus he plays defense

Dez Mason is starting to find his groove and with the injury to Nochbar he will be a starter. in fact he started against Denver and dropped 25.

the only ones i'm interested in for the long term are Miles and Davis. I love Mason and I was proposing trades to get him during the preseason, but I want him as a 2 guard. At 6-5, he's too small as a SF. I don't like the idea of having Steph, Craw, Nate, Mason who are all under 6-5.

I'm sure Jalen Rose is available and he'd probably play a little better in a new environment. That said, I'd give up an expiring contract for him only if we were get Bosh, Villanueva, or TO's unprotected 2006 draft pick. And I highly doubt we'd get any of those 3

Agreed; I was just listing what I would need from our perspective in order for the deal to happen.

Jalen Rose........no matter what you think of him he is available and can still play. He's more of an outside player now though.

Mike Dunlevey might be a guy that could be available. He has Pietrus breathing down his neck when he is healthy and Ike Diogu could push his way into the starting line up with Troy Murphy's ability to score from the outside he could slide to 3.

Jarvis Hayes is a nice scorer from the 3 spot. Maybe even Caron Butler. Both guys have been used off and on and they are basically the same player.

Antoine Walker could be available cuz they currently got him playing 6th man......but his minutes are not the minutes a guy like him should be getting. I think his passing and ball handling ability help the ball movement and would help Channing and Curry....especially on Browns watch. edit: also with Shaq out they still haven't found a place for him in the offense.

The 2 guys on that list I would want the most are Lamar Odom and Rashard Lewis. Both would fit nicely in LBs system, as we could use another go to option that will be consistent. Rashard Lewis fits that bill, and guarantee that under LB, he'd be playing defense and rebounding the ball. That's a promise. Odom I like a little better though, b/c he's a big man who can handle the ball and is an excellent passer who can score when needed. He is also a very good rebounder. He's sometimes too unselfish, kinda like Channing. He would also be playing defense.

Mason would be cool to have, but someone else I'm interested in is Mike Miller. He has had his injury problems, but he's a good, smart athletic player who would help this team nicely.

Lamar's got talent but I've been very disappointed with how he's played in LA. He's looking like an underachiever relative to his potential. Sure, I'd take him, but if we're giving up a lot to get him I'd rather use the trade assets elsewhere.

Eh, I think his scoring has been a dissapointment, but he's still an exceptional passer and like I said, I think he would benefit greatly under Larry Brown. Just remember though, we already have 4 guys (Channing, Marbury, Crawford, Curry) who we can go to for scoring, so even if Odoms scoring wasn't that high here, he would still be very effective with his creating, passing and ball handling. His rebounding would make us better and he would be playing tough D. Would I give up someone like Channing for him? Hell no. But I'd use other assets. Not sure which ones. But Odom is definitely a desireable target in my eyes.

would take a crack at R Butler he has a nice outside shot, can rebound, and runs the floor and finishes. NO needs help on the boards. Lee for Butler and a first.

No way they trade him. He's their future, thats why hes not on the list. And to be honest I was looking for players a little more developed than him, but I would love to have him though.

Not gonna happen, we'd have to give them something they dont have. I don't see a trade between us and them any time soon.

I agree I wouldn't give much to get Peja. I really want nothing to do with him. We can find a shooter without morgaging our future very easily

Some of the names on this list are ghastly.

Peja?

Brown would HATE him. HATE.

Lewis?

Brown would get annoyed with his chucking. But he's so freakin talented and athletic he's not a guy you pass up.

Miles?

Gerald Wallace?

Untouchable nowadays.

Hedo Turbo-Glue?

Lamar Odom?

What makes you think we have what LA wants?
