this was a game that showed why he is a true tweener. doesnt mean he cant succeed, but they will have to find the right spots to put him in. There is NO way he can guard G Wallace and hes not big enough to guard Voshkul Ok4 or Brezec. He cannot play the three in this league, maybe for spurts, but hes not quick enough to guard real nba 3's

amen. he was exposed tonight. couldn't cover the perimeter, couldn't box out on the defensive boards, can't finish inside against bigger players. he's a nice open court player, but not much else right now.

I agree. He is a hustler and has worth, but no way can he handle the athletic 3's and he is a little undersized to go against the Ben Wallace's of the world.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

I have no idea what David can do in this league. I do know they have him playing a position he has never played before in his life at the highest level. Brown believes he can be a power 3 in this league. Will it happen I dont know but he is overwhelmed playing a position he has never played in his life.

He needs to beef up and become an Anthony Mase type...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

a bunch of us have been saying all year he is a 4 and not a 3...finally, everyone is beginning to snap out of it.

I'm liking rose at the 3...10 points, 4/6.

And he was not the reason for the open 3's (before everyone goes nuts on him)
all kool aid all the time.

what r u guys talking about he didnt play until near the end of the third quarter when the game was already over....show me a different game where he didnt defend well...when he actually played meaningful minutes.

I'm not impressed with Lee either. Or Nate. But time will tell. Frye does look good though. Even though is not a defender, rebounder, or a postup player, rather just a scroer. Wate a minute, thats not what we needed.

Either way, no matter what happens IT is awesome. He is like the catholic churche except he is not even responsible for the current incarnations of himself.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

hold on one second. lee has been very good for us as of late. we know it's all about matchups for his effectiveness. he's a solid player. he crashes the offensive glass, tips the ball, and works well in transition. he can't guard bigger 4's or smaller 3's. he exposes the ball too much so he gets blocked alot but he still gets to the line. it's been one game, no need to panic. i would worry more about ariza getting exposed more and more as each game goes by.

lee was drafted b/c he's a smart heady player that could contribute right away. he's living up to his billing. but he's still a rookie so there will be growing pains but he has skills.

In defense of lee, Wallace is a 2/3 tweener...Lee is a 3/4 tweener. I bet Lee could've posted him up every time he wanted to if Larry let him.

Lee has 1 rebound over his last two games in 24 minutes. He can't box out bigger guys.

Look at this, You guys are unreal, You all tear a kid apart one day and then praise him when he gets a double- double, this is pathetic!.

The whole team played poorly on the defense, tonite not just Lee, He came in after it was pretty much over, this team quit tonite before it even started, don't blame Lee for this debacle tonite, he was just apart of a poor team performance, that's all.

thank you!!! people on here are so quick to react. Lee has been excellent so far, and had 1 rough game last night and a thread is started calling him a tweener.

if hes not a tweener, what is he right now? he played 5 in college, he sure is NO 3. I think he can play an effective 4 if he bulks up a bit, I think he has the frame to do it.

What were you expecting with the 30th pick? Someone who could guard the top players at every frontcourt position? He's a very smart, hardworking player with obvious weaknesses.

the gripe is that some people wanted to draft a higher potential type player (like a high schooler) instead of another hustle player. a player like lee is important to a team that's trying to win in the playoffs but we're so for away from really using a player like that, so the pick was questioned. also, we probably could've purchased a #2 in the 32-38 range and used that on lee instead of moving nazr for rose and the 2 #1's. there's many reasons why people are a little frustrated. but lee is a good player so hopefully it all works out.

Who did you want at 30? Chris Taft? Andre Blatch? You can't blindly look at upside without somehow discounting the likelihood these guys have of reaching they're upsides. There are usually great reasons why someone with huge upside and gifted physical skills drops to the 40s. I'd pass on the alternative of keeping Nazy. The team was going nowhere with him having a large role. He's also now having the worst year of his career. I can't imagine the beating he'd be taking now if he were a Knick.
