I've always gone back and forth with Ruben but I think now with Larry coaching this time it's time to say no to the headcases and keep the trend of Smart players. I agree with Slimpack also, if he can't get along with Nate McMillan than he hasn't got a shot with Mr. Brown.

I don't think Patterson would be a problem here, really. And getting him for Malik Rose would be nice in my opinion.

Ruben makes only a minor difference to this team. He's not the missing piece and has no future here.

In fact, I think the negatives would outweight the positives. He'd take away minutes from Ariza and Lee. He likely will be a locker room cancer too. NO THANK YOU! You can remain McMillan's problem.

I agree. Like I said in the other thread the guy wants to win. Larry brown is a proven winner so he will be down for whatever.

I just know every time I see Ruben he is playing well. He is a high energy guy and I think he could come in and do it on both ends.

I'm not worried about that one iota. Rasheed Wallace was one of the worst punks to ever play this game and became civilized once he left Portland for more structured surroundings. Ruben is no where near weed, he just wants out. Ruben has a short contract and is FAR< FAR< FAR< FAR< FAR superior to what we have starting at 3. Its a no-brainer.

Wallace was never a bad teammate. To the contrary, he was often describe as a model teammate. His problem was with officials and off the court issues. Please do not get it twisted. His off the court issues is why the Blazers had to move him. He got along with his coaches as well. Patterson seems to have a problem with coaches much like Miles, that's a big difference. btw, if Marbury ever gave Brown the middle finger during a game he would be crucified on this board and in this city. Why does Patterson get the pass. I mean they are going crazy because he went to the press about wanting to play 2 guard.

Ruben Patterson knows that the Knicks are interested in him and that Larry likes his defense and style of play. I would love to have him here to play SF along with Ariza

if we move Taylor or Rose for him would be ideal.

Ruben wants to be a knick, I feel he would help us tremendously in our weak area, defense on the good SG and SF, atleast he will give his all on defense and giev some hard fouls, can't fault and he brings the kind of hussle and energy our young guys brings

C-Butler
PF-Fyre
SF-Lee
SG-Ariza
PG-Crawford/Robinson

he would fit right in with that group and what do we lose Taylor or Rose, even some say Jerome James but we are not getting rid of him

i remember last year proposing a deal of kurt for ruben + #1.
in hindsight, that would've been better than Q + #1 as Q has been non-existant.

last year, the SF spot KILLED us in games (thanks to tim's mental absence in the 1st half of the season).
this year, the SF spot is KILLING us again.

i would like a player like ruben, who can guard 3 positions, but making a push for miles would probably be good IF we're willing to take on that risk. i think lb could mold dmiles into a terrific defender at the 3 spot.

With MoT you would have to take back another body. I think you could do either Rose or Q straight up. I would think about Q, but Brown likes Rose too much.

at this point, my favorite knicks have been the one's involved in the wins. I jock Q, and know he could bring a dimension to our team that would put us over the next hump, at this point, Crawford is finding his range, marbs is filling his role (scoring point) and if we could get a bonafide defensives wing that can put the ball int he bucket, I'd part with Q.

Right now, reezy will learn a ton under LB, the rooks are ours, jackie maybe better suited on a team that needs him to start.

Do we think getting both miles AND ruben makes sense?

I dunno...I just don't know.
