Salaries match, and Hill comes off the books in a year regardless of injury or ineffectiveness.
Then we get rid of him and find ourselves a free agent supreme. They can have two knuckleheads in Steve Francis and Steph. Clones if you like.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

But they would be fine to watch. Orlando, the land of Mickey Mouse! Pure entertainment value!

Hill wouldn't have a contract after 1 year with the Knicks. Then, we would have the room to get a free agent supreme. Comprende? Salary cap? You are the expert, are you not? Hill's contract would be worth (I am guessing but I will get back to you if you want, about $15 million a year). Off the books. Space, to sign someone new.

We'd still be a trillion dollars over the cap without Marbury. Nice try

Id actuallhy still make this trade, cuase itll be really hard to get rid of marbury's contract, and this seems to be an accceptable way to do so

Well, this year our total salary is at 116 million. In a few years (2007-2008) our cap will go down significantly. It will go down all the way to about 49 million, assuming we did the Marbury for Hill trade, and then didn't resign Hill. Also, remember, Penny is coming off the books. If we would still be over the cap, please post proof of that, at that 49 million, without the Hill and Hardaway contracts.

yes.....grant hill is the answer.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I don't want Grant Hill either. But he is an overpaid guy like Marbury. Just trying to make the numbers work so we can get this team better.

^hill's more of a team player for sure, but he's overpaid, even more so than steph, and really injury prone and over the hill...

You are not thinking cap. Marbury's contract isn't expiring for awhile. Hill's is. That's the difference.

while we're at it we might as well get an expiring contract straight up.

hill still has 2 years left. marbury 4.

hill will miss, most likely, atleast 1/3 of those games. marbury will not.

i still don't like steph as our franchise player, but i'll take his 4 years over hill's 2 anyday.

not to mention marbury still has trade value...

hill may be more overpaid than steph but his contract his alot smaller. thats why i'd do this trade but orlando probably wouldnt unless they got desperate.
