the guy has a spectacular mid-range jumper. I would say its easily a top 3 nBA mid range jumper--its so pure, so soft. I feel like when he shoots from 12 feet he could make it better than 60% of the time. Although he still takes terrible shots once in awhile--if this guy stays within 12-15 feet, hes a very serious weapon. I think this clearly defines him as a two guard who can move over to point, but that mid-range jumper will define his game and make the Knicks more formidable.

I agree with you. I wouldn't say top 3 though. Peja, Rip, Ray, Redd, and heck, Bibby, Nash. Those are all real solid mid ranged players. But your right. If Crawford can continue to establish this, he will no longer just be a scorer who gets his points from jacking 3s. He will be a reliable shooter who can actually impact the game and hit BIG SHOTS, spelling Allan Houston. You think the 2 have been working together?

ah, I am so tired of hearing about peja, the guy is overrated and is a a better long range chucker than mid range shooter, ray allen and redd are top notch, bibby is good too, but rip doesn't shoot 3's and he is damn near automatic from 15 feet, plus he moves so well without the ball, comming off those curl plays, he is as good as it gets, he constant motion is almost impossible to guard, I would say he is easily top 3 mid range shooters. When Houston was playing He was a notch above rip, but that still is great company for RIP to keep..

Jamal Crawford is getting it. I am shocked by the quick turn around, but I've always said he has the talent to be a Rip Hamilton type player.

Marbs as the PG and Jamal as the SG...who would have thought??? What a brilliant move by LB!

Craw is a great shooter when set and open. It's the off the dribble, fading back crossover crap that he misses. He's cutting that out of his game now. He still takes some bad ones, but he's a scorer...its hard for him not to be agressive. But IMO, this guy has a lot more talent than Rip. Rip doesn't have his handles or ability to create for other players. He has the potential to be an outstanding and unique offensive player...now he's taking steps to towards reaching it.

I'll just come out and say it: Jamal has the potential to be better than Rip. I think he can be more akin to Penny (in his prime), without the superstar quotient. His ball-handling is much better than Rip's and his passing is also more advanced. He also has the same desire to come through in the clutch (equal if not better than Rip's).

As of now, Rip is a better defender, a more conditioned athlete and I give him a very slight edge in FT shooting. But JC could become just as good a defender.

I agree that Rip is a good model for Jamal to look up to, but he doesn't need to stop there.

He's great when he is set and open.
He's great when driving within the the foul line.
He's great off of those curl plays.

We will have our very own Rip here AND he has been hitting big shots.

I just dont want him as our full time PG. He is good as a PG for stretches though.

WOW, it's amazing how things turn around for a player like Crawford in the fans' eyes, after a couple of wins, it is only last week everyone was calling for Crawford to be run out of town, and now he is the Hero, talk about 180 degree turn around, has everyone finally come to their senses and give Crawford a chance to learn the system or will another lose turn this thing ugly again?. Stay tuned for another exciting episode of "As the Knicks Turn".

attaboy: My guess is that after our next charge I will lead the charge to have him and Steph run out of town.

Now back the topic. I think Jamal should be on the all-star team

The discipline thing is not easy. To instinctivley stop shooting to work at getting an easier shot by ball movement is very hard for Marbs and craw. The point is to keep it moving to set up easier shots.

YOu can almost here Crawford thinking when he catches the ball around the three point line:

I'd imagine it goes something like this

"Oh man I'm going to nail this shot in Bibby's face. But if I miss coach will yell at me. I don't like to be yelled at. Yelling makes me sad. Why do so many people yell, can't we all just get along. Anyway, back to the original topic. What was the topic? Oh yeah Bibby's face. Man Bibby's face is ugly. It's so ugly I want to throw the ball at it. But why would I throw the ball at it when there's Channing standing wide open. Wouldn't passing to Channing be more benefical to the team? Isn't that what coach is always saying? Pass the ball because it's beneficial to the team?"

And then he passes the ball to Channing instead of jacking up a shot with a hand in his face. I'm pretty sure that's how it goes in his head.

great comparison. was hedging the same way last night!

nice to have a guard in NY that can beat you with the shot or the pass. If only he were a threat on the boards as well. 15 more pounds!

we aren't LB's Pistons, we are Brian Hill's Magic!

Wanna be compared to Rip? Hit those shots in the playoffs against the best competition.

So would you rather have Rip or Lebron? Cuz Bron hasn't made the playoffs and Rip is a Proven Winner.
