thats brutal is we stink--why did we pay picks when we took all that slary off of their inactive list? it seems like we only have 1 pick in either round for the next 3 years.

Not to mention, Isiah has shown that he can get picks late in the season if he wants to (albeit with the addition of players like Rose).

Brigg-A-DOOM,
Lets assume Isiah don't make every 2nd round pick a winner.

With all the youth we got now, there is not really any room to add one more. Would not suprise me if we traded SA's pick, or added a EuroProject. Only Davis and Penny fall off this year, and who says that even happens.

We put too much stock in draft picks that Isiah can magically do it everytime. Lets give this more time.

Its great Frye is showing more stuff and can be worked in. Not many rooks can do this. I think we got Mo. T cuz Isiah new Sweets was a very nice player to trade. If had to rely on rose only, we'd have a problem. Now we can look at rose or Mo. T as trading options.

Losing a 2nd round pick is not "Brutal" by any means.

sure it is, 2nd rounders have become extremely valuable in the last 5 years, especially to teasm like NY who have payroll in the 100+mm$ range. Paying 10mm+$ more for mo Taylor was enough--THEY should have given us a 1 to get rid of him and his large extra $--i mean he was a healthy IR on the rocks. it aint doom, its called dumb

Good point. Not having picks is lethal. Look what it did to the Wolves. Maybe Isiah can nab an undrafted player, at least.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

No, it was DUMB to take on salary in that case AND give them a pick, albeit a 2. Assume you are a bad team since you won 30 games until proven otherwise, we can poo-poo the picks, but Isiah has done a good job with them. atleast find a medium ground there. its like shooting all of your bullets and realizing that there are a few more bad guys still standing. picks are of the highest assets in the nba, so you dont use them like a credit card.

I like picks.

Im not disagreeing with you, but lamenting over a done deal when at the time we can't see how it all plays out is over done.

In general maybe it's lethal. Right now we have as many young players as we need. We just need to actually play them and surround them with good veterans. If you have no young players and no draft picks, you're in big trouble. If you have tons of young talented players and a GM who grabs picks when he wants to, you're fine.

if the Knicks like a guy in the 2nd round they can buy a pick. There's always clubs selling. If we were in love with Taft we could have bought a #2 from Utah or GS for $1mm

I think you mean dumbest Isiah trade ever. Several teams have given up superstars for nothing in return. This is probably the "best worst" trade any GM has ever made

He will be a low 1st rounder. I like the kid a lot, much tougher than most give credit for.

White duke players get brutalized on the road! Watch Josh McRoberts also. Could have gone lotto but stuck with plan "A".

Remember, Eddie is same age as Lee, Nate, and Channing! Butler and Reezy are 20! Six guys under 23!

I despise JJ Reddick, theres something about him to me that makes him extremely smug and ****y but at the same time I also know he's a hell of a shooter. At this point in time I think he's going to be a mid 1stRounder probably in the 14-18 range. Theres not much more can do to show how good of a player he is, becuase he puts up 20 every nite and thats what he does so(an Allan Houston type of player) I don't see his draft stock really improving or decreasing. Kid can shoot thats what he does.

Exactly, While i would love to be able to add Rudy Gay or Josh Boone, though I don't think we will be in the lottery this yr anyway. We have so much youth on this team,I think we can deal with not haveing a pick this yr. Just need to keep developing Ariza, and Frye, and Curry, and Lee, and Nate, and Buter, and even Crawford.

Right now we *might*. Things can change quickly. No flexiblity because of no picks does hurt in the long run. Right now I"m hoping that every single one of young guys develops and it may be a non-issue, but there are no guarantees.
