Not Rasheed.
No, not Tim Duncan or Chris Bosh.
It's Kevin McHale.

He had one up and under move ... after pivoting 2 or 3 times ... against Taft yesterday that was vintage McHale. Channing's got a great head on his shoulders, he's tough, he's a little awkward (maybe not quite as much as McHale), and he's got a great touch. I'm liking what I see a lot.

Its hard not to. I'm really excited about him also. The kinds of shots he's taking you can take on anyone. He's got a great finesse game. He's not soft by any means, but look at how much more effective he's been over a pure power guy like Curry who cant stay on court because of his offensive fouls.
Another great thing about Frye is he's really big. He's got a strong upper body and he's a legit 6'11. I dont know who he reminds me of to be honest, but I really like his game.

and he ain't scared. that's key here. he jacked up a 3 in his first game. he takes shots early in the shot clock. and he's aggressive. i wish isiah dumped everything and everybody for draft picks in 02/03 and just drafted everyone on this team b/c in that department, he gets an A++.

its about time we drafted good players

maybe isiah was right to take frye over everyone else- and fishmike is right, its going to be hard for the opposition to take his offensive game away from him

I never thought he could make it with a name like channing frye, but he might just!

All of our rookies are looking good. Isaiah deserves a lot of credit for this past draft and for getting Ariza the year before.

Way to downplay the potential of Frye by equating Frye with Horace Grant, How about saying he is the next and only Channing Frye, all of this comparsion crap is nonsense.

A player should be allowed to create his own Identity instead of being compared to either a washed up player or an All-Star or someone in between, either way it is insulting to that player.

I don't think he was down playing Frye at all. Horace was a very good player back in the day.

I don't think its an insult to compare him to Horace Grant!

Go check his stats- his best year was 15 & 11

I think we'd be estatic with that.

Not me... sure the 11 boards would be awesome but I see Frye's ceiling MUCH higher as a scorer. He's got great range and scores inside as well as outside. He's athletic. He can drill a jumper in your face or shoot over you. The skills with the ball really jump out at you. It just goes to show how unskilled Tim Thomas really was. He could shoot but his moves around the basket were jump, flip and clang. I think Frye could be a real weapon scoring the ball because he can do it from anywhere.

that is also a good point fish. His range on his jumper really shocked me. and on top of that, he is a better athlete than I expected, his leaping ability is great and he has great length.. Nice touch around the basket, and he moves well for a guy his size....

the best comparisons should be Tim Duncan and Rasheed Wallace

i would have really loved if he could have dunked that put back, but i think he will remember that play and get the dunk in an get the points, plus he is staying out of foul trouble, blocking shots and rebounding, yes rebounding

now we need Curry and James to step it up, i do think Larry needs to leave them out there and allow them to foul out, **** we have bodies that can take up the slack, i think that is one way to help them grow and get better in this system we are running or looking to run.

Chris Dudley at the top of his game. Maybe a young and spry Herb Williams.

after having had so many bad players drafted in recent history (wallace, mccarty, etc) and having traded away picks (sweetney, nene, etc), my hopes are tempered. Yes, Frye might be much better, but watching such bad teams have me dreaming of solid players- I'll take a horace grant over TT or Charles Smith-

I agree, except he is way more athletic and spry than Timmy D ever was. Now if he can become as dominant as either of those guys in their primes, which seems like a real possibility, I'd explode from the excitement.

Wow. Quite the praises. No comparisons to Travis Knight or Felton Spencer yet...

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Perhaps a shorter version of Manute Bol.

I see a lot of Fred Weis in there. He also has a bit of Slavko Vranes in him.
