Ive been reading all this whining. God! ITS THE FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON! THERE ARE 8 NEW PLAYERS! THERE IS A NEW COACH AND A NEW SYSTEM! Man.

Yes our rebounding was horrible. But that can improve, and now we know our # 1 weakness. So Isiah can think about a trade for a rebounder. We all knew Eddy Curry and Channing (who didnt even play) arent great rebounders. No reason to think someone can't get better or hustle more as the year goes on.

#2 Weakness - Ballhandling. That always takes some time. Its a new system. All the Celtics came back to the same coach. Far more comfortable than Jamal and Stephon trying to relearn the game. Give them some time.

GIVE THE TEAM SOME TIME. STOP BITCHING AND ENJOY THE SEASON. SO WE GOT PUMMELED IN OVERTIME.

We still went to overtime playing an aweful game. Did you see the Curry dunks? Did you see the Nate passes? Did you see the Ariza hustle? Did you see Stephon almost abusing the pther point guard. Did you see the team defense improve?

WHY MUST WE DIE BECAUSE WE LOST ONE F'ING GAME IN OVERTIME. STOP OVERREACTING!
I don't care what people think. People are stupid. - Charles Barkley

yup. We knew we were going to lose games we should win early, and probably win ones people expect us to lose later in the season.

EXACTLY. All the knee-jerk reactions and "woe is me" crap I am reading today... Some of these cats really need to pick up their faces and stop all the damn crying.

New coach, new system, new players... There's are going to be bumps in the road. I'm just looking forward to seeing them improve. The D, the ball movement, the boards, the hustle, it'll all come together over time. It's unrealistic to think everything's gonna click into place overnight.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

IN larry we trust. If he don't wanna play Frye yet, I ok. No way I second guess this guy!

WE might go 0-5!

Best shot we have to improve is from within!

Even if we go 0-5, it's not the end of the world. This team's gonna go through some growing pains, so we as fans just have to grit our teeth and bear it.

As for Frye's absence, he'll get his chance. At least Nate got some burn last night.

I think it's wierd that every article leading up to the game had frye contributing or starting...It just goes to show that the ny press has NO IDEA what the knicks are really doing.

I don't mind losing as long as our young guys are at least getting better. I don't see how that can happen though when Frye is on the bench. My view is that if you are going to stick with vets, you better win. I don't know about you guys, but I thought Lee, Robinson, Ariza, Craw, and Frye would have been an excellent 2nd unit to counter Boston's quickness and athleticism. I don't care if three of those guys are rookies, they would have matched up better with Delonte West, Ricky Davis, etc. If we were playing a half court team, I could understand why the vets would be getting the majority of the burn, but the Celtics like to run when they get the change to and that is not something our vets are good at.

Frye runs the floor much better than James and Curry combined. Mark Blount looked like star all because the guys who were guarding him were too slow...

The team is constructed for a win-now effort, with the roster and payroll we have. It's not really a rebuilding club where we play our young players big minutes and are content with potential losses, nor is this a strong possibility with the current management and market.

Man, this is amazing! For many years we wanted young players and rebuild. When we finally do it and in the process we land the best teacher and coach out there, we can't stand watching the team go through the process every rebuilding team goes. We may not have played Frye and Lee, but this is still a youn team learning how to play basketball. Look at guys like Curry, Crawford, Nate, Ariza, Barnes. Even Marb is learning. We sure hope to make the playoffs this season, but the primary objective is making all these guys play the right way, and that will take many months at least.

But is really crazy to talk about the Knicks contending on the first game of the season. This is still training camp for most of our players. They are learning...

Totally agree - give the team til January before anyone starts bitching...And when was the last time the knicks had an alley-oop in a game? Or a big man scoring at will? or anyone on the roster referred to as 'young talent'? - This is good, very good...Even with the OT loss, this is good.

I for certain NEVER EVER wanted a roster as young as these guys. The learning process can be super fustrating, and if i was IT I would start looking to dump 1 or 2 of these young guys along with Penny for a Grant hill type player.

The only thing this team has in it's favor is a hall of fame coach ( Imagine lenny, herb or chaney coaching this roster), other wise we are definitely lotto bound. Don't get me wrong, we have talant, but we are still mega soft and lack leadership and no one on this team has the balls to step up and claim that spot. I'm not even sure we have a captin now that allans gone.

Steph would probably be the one ( thru defualt) but man he's probably the softest guy on the team as far as a mental stand point. His Idea of leadership his to score more points.

Thats been my view for the past 5yrs. playing the Vets only to lose 55 games a year is assinine!

How about looking at it like this Frye will get his true NBA debut it front of the Home Crowd in the Greatest Arena in the World, Madison Square Garden!, what better place to see Frye emerge as the Real Future of this team. Besides LB was most likely trying to avoid another blowout like last yr against Boston, think of it that way.
