Craw & Davis. Those are the two best options right now.
Barnes should not even be in this poll.
Barnes was a critical bench player last year for Sac Town...when Webber went down last year, he averaged some points and all around #'s when he got time.. I'm telling you this kid could be like Jimmy Jackson at SF with better defense.

Right. You said the key words: bench player. Why would we even consider him as a starter when we have other players who have proven they deserve that role over a guy who wasn't even a consideration until preseason?
What SF has proved that he deserves to start more than him? Q? He's hurt and I believe that Larry is right and he is better suited for SG....Ariza? He is the EXACT same player he was last year, and Barnes is a more well rounded player. Penny? Not on this team. I think Lee can play SF but noone else does so that rules him out. We manage to get Miles start him, I'd be cool with that (until Barnes outplays him too).
If we had a better option I'd agree with you, but truth is we don't and noone IMO has earned at that position, Except for Barnes.
First of all, going with this poll, if you assume Q is there, then you have to pencil Q in. Others have said that Q can play SF. While I think that makes us too small in the backcourt, it's not out of the question that he would start at SF. If so, Craw is the only reasonable choice for SG. Ariza is better than Barnes, and so is Crawford. I don't really understand the debate. Even George Lynch, if we sign him, could fit in well at starting SF if Q is out. There's a -3% chance of Barnes starting to begin the season. I think he was a decent pick up, but let's not go crazy. If Barnes is better than I'm giving him credit for, maybe he'd make starter by the end of the year (although I already see him being highly overrated on this board and don't see him as a starter quality player). But to think that it's realistic that a guy is going to be the starting SF, purely based on potential seems pretty silly to me.
And yes, if all else fails, you'd have to start Penny over Barnes. Barnes has played well, but not well enough to warrant a starting job.
I see Q as the starter at SG and Steph at the point. I see Jamal playing better at the one this preseason than he played at almost anytime last season at the 2. I never considered Q a SF at any time because of his size.
As for Barnes being overhyped and overrated on this board, I can say the exact same thing about Trev. I like Trev but alot of people are giving this kid credit because he is our first true prospect and homegrown talent in forever. Trev is athletic as hell, a great finisher and a good defender, and he seems to play better in an open court offense Trev doesn't really pass and his jumper has minimally improved since last year. Barnes isn't as athletic, and isn't as great a finisher but he can play in the half court or open court, he can actually pass the ball, he has a mid--range jumper, and is just a good if not better defender than Trev plus he can body up on bigger players.
Bottom line to me is Barnes is a more versatile and at this point a more complete player than Trev is, and yes, also a better player. Both of these players also were 2nd round picks so they are from the same boat in that respect.
Why on God's green earth would you start Penny over anyone? He is hurt and undependable. I can see him being our backup point if we can't bring anyone in. There is absoltely no reason I can fathom to start Penny.
As for getting Lynch, I think this is how it is going to play out....We are going to pull a 2 for one for Miles so we don't have to cut anyone(Miles and Ratliff or Patterson--I'll go with Ratliff for now for Penny and Rose), we'll bring in Miles(who will then eventually start at the 3) and sign Lynch as a backup.
