they are up shts creek with the salary cap and Joel P--they are going to have to pay the guy in the 10mm+ range which sends them to 65mm without their high draft pick and or othermoves--maybe up to70+mm which is luxury tax hit of additional 10mm+

unless they are interested in malik rose for patterson OR willing to give us MULTIPLE unconditional # 1 picks for taking on salary----peg them the bird, they are dealing with a weak hand--no team other than the Knicks can help them out

they were pretty crass with the Nets dealing with rahim and then trying to force a 2nd round pick out of Denver for that assistant coach--let the GM or the owner go back to the high premiums and 20 wins

were coming out--we will be in the playoffs and possibly very competitive I like the team--well be in position to improve the team if need be at the break--to see what we have-something intersting becomes available

Briggs werent you crying a couple of weeks ago the Knicks gave up a Vince Carter type pick instead of dealing Lee? I agree with you on the Portland situation however

what if we could get by with just trading Rose for miles?
http://www.nypost.com/sports/knicks/56252.htm

Davis' presence has made the undersized Rose an afterthought. Both rookie power forward Channing Frye and tenacious David Lee outplayed Rose in camp. Frye's length will make it hard for Brown to sit Frye.

The Blazers inquired about Rose, with the Knicks seeking a longtime Thomas favorite, swingman Darius Miles.

I would ve given up Lee instead of the picks. We dont know if those picks with an ending contract couldve gotten us someone like Brand--Lee's a decent player, but if they wanted Lee over the picks, its a no-brainer because of the hedge to the organization

We will disagree on this one David is going to be a very solid player for the Knicks. I think you have to get rid of a couple of the PF because Brown wants to play the young kids there

i was thinking of Rose and Miles straight up
as per salary ratio
Rose=31.5 3years
Miles=32.7 4years

if they want more, we send them Frederic Weiss, i just want to get rid of him already

yeah, at this point, we are holding all the cards.

everyone is happy with our squad and at this point, we're just filling need, but if zeke was able to pull this off I'd pretty much pencil us in for a championship in 3 years.

Yep...I said it.

ina sense it would be better for us to keep Mo Taylor, i like his game more so than Rose, Rose is known for his defense, while Taylor is more offensive minded, but we should not ommit the fact that Taylor can play defense as well if he asserts himself to that every time he is on the floor and so far to me he looks good and at times unstoppable, so we can hold off on Patterson, we have (AiRiZa and Barnes=UCLA)

if we got patterson, he would start 3

i dont know if matt barnes and ariza can guard the tougher 3s but patterson can

Patterson has defense, but can be a locker room disrupter, but who knows what would happen.

I do know that the Blazers want to get rid of him.

I agree about Mo, although many here are too emotional to admit it.

Patterson gone get socked in the eye by David Lee in practice and while he trying to retaliate Frye gone trip him and Nate gone get a sucker punch in. Keep him where he at he got a bad habit of getting jumped by his teammates

This is the drawback to getting LB as your coach. He loves to tinker with rosters as much as IT. All these trade rumors are strictly LB doing. But if the Knicks somehow land Miles, then you can count the days for Marbury's exit.

I think Ruben for Malik Rose is a good trade for us. Shorter contract, a good defensive player who can cover 2's and 3's.

Remember when he was the Kobe stopper? Thats why he got that long contract. Then Kobe killed him. Oh well.

Why so much attention to Portland. Some posters here (I don't even remember who anymore) speculated that Theo might fit okay and now you're treating it like Isiah went on the record indicating interest in Theo. There must have been about 150 posts on Theo Ratliff over the past two weeks. It's gotten a bit crazy

Yeah, I kinda agree with Bonn. It's actually kinda silly b/c it hasn't even been in the papers as rumors! Lets not give Isiah any ideas here lol
