I think the Knicks will see Rose, Davis, and maybe a Hardaway gone before the season starts. I could see a Ratliff being on the team by opening day. This may be an interesting week for the Knicks

boy i hope we dont take ratlif off their hands for nothing. ratliff is close to the end, but is still owed 33mm$ like they should throw in much more than that and picks.

King, I think you're right, but I think Davis may be staying.

I would do it. Theo will gives us that shot blocker we need and he can get about 8 rebounds a game if given the minutes. We have a paint presence on O and on D.

Theo has been slowed by injuries in the past 2 years, but IF AD is gone, he would start at PF.

given the minutes at what cost to the young PFs we have here? Honestly, Theo is toast, and seriously, his contract sucks more than James.

theo is a C and his production is down because he is aging and has a career full of injuries

he is no PF, look at PFs in the NBA, theo ratliff would be the worst in the league.

What?

the guy is like 6'10" and goes 240. He is a defensive minded PF for sure, and next to Curry he would compliment him well. He would also cover for the guards we have.

I figured more people would be happy about this. Theo is a real shot blocker. I would want him to start at PF for the Knicks. He can pickup the quick fouls and play some D while Curry goes to work inside on O.

Case: I didnt mean to say he should get 30 mins. I was just making the point that he can rebound. Even if he gets 18-20 mins and the other 28-30 mins are split up between Frye/Butler, I think we have a damn good defensive PF. He wont guard the smoth PF that can shoot from 18 but he will make sure no guard can drive into the lane and get an easy layup.

BRIGGS: I dont care about his contract because there are only 3 years left. I would rather not take back Patterson. I do not like that guy. He can play defense but he just comes off as a guy that will ruin the chemistry if there is any. Theo has been injury prone lately and he has been slower but he can still block shots like a mother.

IMO, Theo brings credibility to our frontline. The guy blocked 2.5 shots last season. If he is healthy, we are getting a good player.

You have to be kidding me, it woyld be a joke. i think tyhey need to be careful if this is what they are thinking--they just paid a slow C 30mm and I bet they are hvaing doubts about it real quick, the last thing you want to be burnt on is an aging guy who's numbers are falling like a rock--pklay PF? you think he has the footspeed and quickness to play guys like dwight howard chris bosh jermaine oneal al harrington a jamison drew gooden etc????? no frikin way I like what we have now davis starting and Frye taking most of the other minutes with Mo Taylor in the mix

we have absolute ZERO ZERO need for ratliff

i would do malik for patterson i know patterson has ran his mouth and they want him out and thats a FAIR deal--if we use our ending contract on theo ratliff, were shooting our load way to quick--this is isiahs problem with vets not thinking these things out--thats why we play merry go round

I'd rather have Theo than Jerome James but now that we have Jerome, Fyre, Curry, Davis, Butler there's no need for Theo and his longer contract

The problem is that no one in the league can guard Dwight Howard, Jermaine O'Neal, Okafor and Bosh. Those guys are just going to get their points. I see your point about wasting Penny's expiring contract. It wouldnt be great value for a maz contract.

hey if you think Theo is too slow at the PF, you gotta be real disappointed by a guy who is almost 5 YEARS OLDER ... AD. Let me know how much of Theo you have seen in the preseason.

I gotta think AD still may be part of the cut deal worked with CHI and with him gone maybe Larry wants Theo for 20 minutes and to start to set the defensive tone with Curry goofing around while he gets into shape.

Penny and Rose don't do anything for this team, so those 2 won't be missed. Theo adds a vet body.

I want nothing to do with Theo Ratliff. In his hayday he was a great defensive player but thats about it and now he contribues barely anything. He's not that old age-wise; 32, but he's a very OLD 32 years old on those knees. Having Theo AND JJ on the roster would just cause a glut because the reason Isiah signed JJ is for a huge body upfront who plays defense to throw out there about 15 minutes a game which is the same exact role which would be given to Theo.

Say no to Theo.

And say God please No to Ruben. Funny, I thought he's heard that before.

patterson for mlik im down with that

theo ratliff--he is shot, we have 3 C's, were playing good D we have 4-5 PFs why on earth do we spend all that extra flow on him? hes got an arthritic hip and has troubles running. dikembe put his numbers up in half the time and deke is probably 10 years older and only cost 2mm$

i think we have something good going do we have to pull the trigger? mo taylor tim thomas theo ratliff--weve done with young guys--patterson im down with, ratliff--unless they were throwing in an unprotected 2007 pick, _+ an additional 2009 lottery pro--why the heck would we atke on all that salary for? GS got 24 YO B davis with an ending contract--lets play it cool here
