Channing Frye against the World Champs had:
19 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals, 1 turnover, and 3 fouls in 27 minutes.
All while shooting 8 for 14 fg and 3 of 5 from the line.

I must say I am very impressed. It is a big preseason game to do it in as well, and Duncan logged over 20 minutes. I didn't see the game, but those stats don't lie, and the game was close and he hit a big shot late. I have good feelings about Channing. Keep it up youngster!!!!

Very impressive game for Channing. Just from looking at the boxscore you have to think that Frye was putting up these numbers against pretty good players becuase Duncan, Rasho and Horry all played 18+ minutes. Excellent game from Channing, the 4 years he spent in college were an absolute perfect precursor to him coming to the NBA and playing for Larry Brown. Larry stresses fundamentals and Channing is chock full of em. Channing has compiled a pretty decent preseason so far averaging 12.2PPG, 4.6RPG in 19 minutes of action per game. Not to bad for our youngster.

More Thomas Home Runs?

Word is that Channing Frye, who led NY in scoring last night with 19 and pounded home the go-ahead points with a follow dunk with about a minute to go, was a Dell Demps tout on Draft Night. Dell was a high-up in the Knicks scouting process before joining the Spurs later in the summer to be SA’s Director of Pro Personnel. Frye scored his points against the Spurs from inside and out to almost 20 feet. At times Frye guarded TD with some success.

To quote Will Smith, Lampe's the Old 'n Busted. Channing's the New Hotness. (-:

Lampe is a done trade forever ago. Let go. Let's appreciate what we have.

Channing has impressed me greatly and even if he isn't a "star" I think he will be an amazing contributor. He's a versatile, young weapon. Lampe is on an aweful team with not many scorers, while the Knicks are littered with them. And Lampe has been in the league about 2, 3 years now. Lets see what Channing does in 2, 3 years.

But Nate is the steal. He will mean to the Knicks what John Starks meant to us at once. If he's not a liability at PG defensively, and learns to dish, than he's gonna be the starter opposite LeBron James in 3 years

I agree with Ong....Butler and Frye have a pretty good chance to be very special. If Larry and Zeke say it, than it is true. Both are capable of blocking shots, and both are good scorers.

I said it once and everyone thought that I was crazy...If Butler adds some muscles to his frame, he has the chance to be a player like Ben W.....long stretch, but it is possible..

Dell Demps!

Not to take away from Isiah, but the scout that was strong on Frye was this cat who is not head of Spurs player development. Did this guy also bring on Reezy? I thought I recall reading this last year.

Zeke did hire this dude. But he left for the Spurs.

Zeke has plenty of solid draft history without Demps. Brendan Suhr has a lot of input too.

Well said.

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

In another year, if Frye continues to work with the weights, his physic will scare people down in the low block.
