Now that we've seen all of them play a little against NBA PF/Cs, compare these players.

Andrew Bogut
Channing Frye
Charlie Villanueva
Hakim Warrick
---
Frye and Villanueva have had great preseasons IMO. Villanueva's gotten more PT and been outstanding in all aspects of the game other than rebounding. Warrick's had some great moments and looked decent overall. Bogut's looked okay but unimpressive. It's obviously early but not too early to be excited about Frye and Villanueva.

Who would you have drafted first: Villanueva or Frye?

it'll be a lot easier to decide once we see them play in the regular season. I still would've taken Bogut. He is going to be very good once the season starts

Yeah, I'd agree with that. Charlie was a bigger gamble (i.e., higher upside and higher downside). I'm quite happy with Frye but I'd be happy with Charlie too. Man, it would have been nice to have both of them!

He's getting a lot of PT in the preseason. The Bucks will need huge improvement from him if they don't want this year to be a repeat of last year. I think he has the right build to be a much better rebounder than he's been so far in the preseason.

Bogut.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

You still see him as a small foward Shawn Marion type who can switch to power foward on some occasions?

That's what I see Warrick as. I think he can play PF next to the right center. I don't know if Pau Gasol is that center.

Honestly, right now, other than Bogut, I would have taken Frye. I think he's going to be very good. I don't think it's a stretch to say that Frye is actually ahead of Bogut at this point either.

Worth noting that Diogu is not only pretty seriously injured, but when he was healthy the GSW coach was complaining that he couldn't follow any plays. Diogu himself said he'd never run plays in college and admitted to being lost. Sometimes getting a player who is used to learning a system is a good thing and Frye definitely had that experience with Lute Olsen.

If Butler was in the draft he woulda got drafted before Bogut.

i'm thrilled with frye too but i still think bogut's going to turn inito a great center. i don't think a slow initial adjustment changes that.

I could see Bogut putting up solid numbers like 15/9/2 for a center but I think Frye is more polished offensively and more athletic and can average 19pts, 8rebs & 1.7blks one day. Considering Frye was the 8th pick and Bogut 1st thats pretty damn good! heck even if Bogut puts up 18/10/2 I'll still be happy!
