In preseason? Give me a break. If a player's going to risk making an injury (no matter how slight) worse than it is, I'd rather them lay it on the line during the season. He will have more than enough time to prove himself to the fans.

well, this is pre season, but I get your point. I wanna see Frye get those extended minutes too. I kind want to see him guard Dirk too, at times. Lee got schooled by him, but he worked hard, regardless, the other night. Lets see what Frye can do.

I also want to see Butler get those extended minutes. If Curry sits tonight, let Butler and Frye start. That could be pretty to watch.

wow. It seems that neophyte Brown wants to keep guys out of meaningless games when they are even the slightest bit dinged. Maybe next year, when he's gotten some experience coaching, he'll start pushing these millionaires harder in the preseason games.

I agree with you about Frye but I think you are being kind of harsh towards Eddy. Everything I have read in the papers so far suggests that Eddy wants to play tonight. From the Post, " Curry, whose MRI on his right shoulder was negative, said he wants to play tonight." I even read somewhere that Eddy guaranteed he would play tonight. So if Eddy doesn't end up playing tonight, it will probably be because of the coaches not wanting to risk anything in a preaseason game, not because Eddy doesn't want to play hurt.

well thats a very good sign. im glad he said that. there is a big difference playing hurt or playing injured. playing hurt just means you need to bring mental toughness, if an mri said he had a slightly torn muscle--thats a different story

we need a TOUGH act--toughness WINS in sports

Yeah but Stupidity LOSES in sports. While I hope that if this was a regular season game that Eddy would play, there is absolutely no sense in having him go out there with a dinged up shoulder in the preseason and have soemone accidently hit it and worsen the injury. I am concerned with Eddys conditioning too but he can do that somewhere else, not against live competition. We need Eddy for the opener and we definately don't need to lose him before the season even starts.

Amen. Knicks in the Paint Notes say that Curry and (ugh) Mo Taylor are starting tonight.

When will Brown realize that Mo T is the worst defensive player on the team?

It's preseason. Preseason. P-R-E-S-E-A-S-O-N. Do you want Curry to prove his manhood in a meaningless game or do you want him to be in good shape for the season opener? Want to ask Allan Houston what he thinks? Don't matter how much Frye plays either. Yes, it's preseason. Let Larry do his thing, he knows what he's doing.

My guess is that LB is allowing him to start out of respect for him as a veteran. Kind of like Penny and Malik. But My guess is the last game or so will be the actual starting lineup, seeing that everyone is healthy that is. But I don't think there is a chance in hell that Mo will ever start on this team during the regular season. So he'd better enjoy it now.

hes out of shape as it is. any player in pro sports can get hurt on any given play. running up and down the court for 15 minutes will do him more good than not. he doesnt have to be herclues, just run the floor as hard as he can for 15 minutes in game conditions and make a few plays.

You stated my point for me. Athletes can get hurt on any given play, which means he can get hurt if he's not ready to go out and play for that "15 minutes of running up and down to make a few plays." I got no problem with Eddy playing if he feels up to it but by no means should he be played if that shoulder is hurting him. There are TONS of other ways for him to get conditioning, I don't think he forgot how to play basketball.

So why can't he just do wind sprints in practice? Run on a treadmill? Tae bo even?

he made it through like a big boy

channing has to watch film on good rebounders. he contorts his body and goes for rebounds with one hand or like claps at it with two. and his failure to fundamentally block out lost that game. he has such nice touch, but he has to learn how to rebound the ball
