All three of our rooks made it into the top ten through the first games of the preseason. I know it's just training camp but this has to be a good thing for their confidence going into the season. I think we'll see them get better and better as the season progresses And who said Charlie V was going to be a bust.

Not sure anyone said that CV would be a bust, only that he was picked WAY to high

CV is definitely top 10 talent but everyone thought he'd be a bust since he showed traces of TT in college but he was great in pre-draft workouts and continues to be

How many block shots has CV been getting? As he gets into better and better shape and gets stronger, he can become a force on the help side defense. Between him and Bosh, no one will get a clear path to the hole. His man to man d needs work i'm sure. Who has a higher ceiling - CV or FRYE?

El-Amin was never a pro caliber player. He was drafted based on his championship run and not talent. That was the scouts fault. CT fans had little expectations for the guy. He was too fat.

Things look even better if you adjust for minutes played. Here's the ppg for the rooks listed above, per 40 minutes:

1. Frye 24.8
2. McCants 21.6
3. Robinson 21.0
4. Villanueva 20.6
5. Warrick 20.5
6. Monia 20.0
7. Felton 19.3
8. Head 19.1
9. Lee 18.6
10. Granger 17.3

Frye will be the better player but Charlie V will have the better highlights because he's good with the rock. I'm looking for all three of them to be on one of the two all rookie teams.

I never said it, but I thought CV would be a bust. And I like him (mainly because he has Alopecia -- the no hair thing -- like my nephew). Clearly very talented, just didn't seem tough enough or competitive enough to me. So I thought he was going to flop. He may still, but I'm rooting for him.

And pretty cool to see Frye leading the rooks in PPM. Thanks for posting that TVerve. Where's Bogut, btw?

Read today that Bogut will likely come off the bench and that Gadzuric will start...

Frye could someday in the future average something close to that because it looks like he can score so easily. The best thing is that he actually is also good on defense and has been effective rebounding compared to his minutes. He has to work on boxing out, though...

They need to do a DNA screen to see if he has any genetic "Gazy" coding!

that's pretty cool. I'll take my chances with Frye.

Our rooks look good on those lists, now they've got to keep their production up to earn PT from LB. Look for all of them to continue to put effort on D and rebounds (the Larry Brown formula for players to earn minutes).

That draft is looking to pay off nicely for us if this pace keeps up.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
