He's not low paid by normal standards compared to what teachers or other professionals make but he makes about at most an average amount for an NBA player. You seem to be making a big deal about one minor comment. Past your bedtime?

I have to agree with the others here. James is overpaid for a backup. He'd be below-average paid if he was a starter, though.
The annoyance with James stems from the fact that many didn't consider him good enough to be a starter, so thus they were annoyed with the signing since he was paid closer to starter money (thus he was expected to be a starter). Yet, now with Curry here and James as a backup, people are concerned with the fact that we're paying so much for a backup center who makes Jason Collins's stats look good.
James should be a good fit as a backup center for the Knicks. He's just overpaid for that role. Case closed.
