should mike breen be fired? i think this guy is the most horrendous peice of crap **** commentator i've ever had the misfortune of hearing.
should we fire mike breen?
should we force him to resign?

I'm in the middle with Breen. He's extremely knowledgable and sometimes has a differet view of the game from referees eyes(since he's a former referee) but at the same time he tends to sound like a know-it-all as well so thats why I'm in the middle. The only reason I'd say I'd want him out is becuase this is the New York and the Knicks need a BIG-TIME play by play announcer doing their games.

that's a tough choice.

i have to go with forcing him to resign. that way there'll be more of a mystery about it, a stronger hint of scandal. people will wonder whether he was visiting marv's caves or biting deb kauffman or something.

Couldn't disagree with this topic more, I think Breen does a great job. Take a listen to some of the jokers on other stations if you have league pass - we're extremely lucky to have someone as good as Breen.

I'll have to agree with the LeaguePass part. When I had leaguepass last year, I realized how many REALLY bad announcers there are, I found it extremely hard to watch alot of the games becuase of poor play-by-play. The analysts were usually good beucase their always former players but the play-by-play, forget about it.

Breen's alright, but it sure would be nice to have Marv back. Can't we mend the fence with Marv? He shouldn't be with the Nets, there's something very wrong with that.

he's homer but I have heard worse. I like Clyde, Gus, Johnny hoops and then Mike Breen. God forbid you dump Breen and get stuck with Al Trawtwig

i agree with briggs, i think gus is solid. and i must say that i think al trautwig is better than breen, because trautwig doesn't try to smarter than clyde about basketball. breen thinks he can explain basketball to clyde frazier!! listen to the way clyde talks to breen though, he treats him like an idiot when he gets the chance.

i remember last year breen was talking about desmond mason and how he likes to paint portaits in his spare time, and how he is just a class act and all this ****, and he goes on to criticize aall these other guys around the league. and clyde asks breen what desmond mason paints, and breen is clueless, clyde says, well does he paint landscapes, or does he paint basketballs, or animals??? breen didn't know. breen did a gam with bill walton and walton outright offended him once. and i think its best to have johnny hoops and clyde together, because they will just have a conversation about the game rather than saying ten billion useless statistics

i hate mike breen, and i've actually made a comic strip about him. its called "the accomodator: mike breen"

You guys who don't like Breen are going to have to get specific, cuz i'm not sure you have a good take on him as an announcer. He's very knowledgeable about the game and has a good flow when following the action. He's not even close to being a homer. I don't know where that comes from. Apparently you haven't listened to other teams broadcasts, cuz genereally we have the least to worry about in that dept. You should hear those other guys openly root for the team and blast any negative calls.

Breen is a Pro. I think some of you just don't like his style, but I have yet to see anyone post something of substance that they have against him. Even on national games he does a good job. Perhaps some of you don't like his banter between the action, but that's more of a personal dislike and not necessarily a valid criticism of his skills as an announcer.

I wish we still had Marv, but Breen is a good replacement. They both have a dry wit about them and that works well alongside Clyde and his lighthearted humor.

If you think Breen is a homer than you really need to check out NBA League Pass. Those guys are horrible. Most of those guys are like stuck in the 80s. The worst are the Celtic guys. Houston guys are bad too. Breen stays on top of the Knicks praises the other teams too. Is very knowledgable too. I have grown to hate Marv. Mike and Dogg are right about him. I really think he believes he was part of that Knick championship.

i guess that answers an earlier question concerning the moniker "bedtime."

seems safe to say he's not referring to milk and cookies and nappy time!

I'm sick of Breen too.....they complain that Marv was too neutral in his comentary and how he didn't seem like he's a Knick fan......Breen is sarcastic and arrogant. Dude is always throwing smart jabs at Clyde that seem to go over Clydes head. He is a know it all. I can't stand listening to him. Let him go on NBA TV and interview people or something....be a anchor not a play by play guy.

Gus Johnson!!!!!Gus Johnson!!!!!Gus Johnson!!!!!

Gus has a distinctive radio voice and he has awesome personality. You can hear the enthusiasm in his voice when the work "Knick" comes off his tongue. Him and Clyde have the time of their lives together and it bleeds out of the TV screen. Even when the Knicks lose Gus genuinely seems sad that the Knicks lost but he makes you feel like still sitting there with him till the end.

Fire Breen please!!!!

YES!!!!

I thought I was the only one!!!! Breen is a cerified *******! Al trautwig is awesome too. Dude seems like a kid in a candy store getting to stand next to Clyde and Johnny Hoops.

Both Trauwig and Gus are head and shoulders better than Breen. I don't see why Breen gets so much respect.

I will say that Gus Johnson could easily replace Breen. I think Breen is on the rise nationally. Gus has alot more passion for the game. It is funny that they use his calls for the Knick highlights in recent years more so than any other.

Breen will do. Gus would be better, though.

Gus' skills are superior, so maybe he's needed more on the Radio.

I can't stand how Mike sweats Clyde, though.

Clyde was Clyde, but it's time for the sideburns to go.

Dude needs a stylist, too.

And let's face it...

he screws up the meaning of those $10 words he uses.

Often.

Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

Breen Works well with a yapper like Doug Collins or Bill Walton. Breen seems to respect them more. Breen thinks he is some kind of legend already. Let him go and be a legend on NBA TV. He wants to be Bob Costas.

Bob Costas was the man because he seemed to be having the time of his life no matter what the sport and he never tried to make anyone seem like they were morons.

Marv and Fratello worked because they let each other do their thing and they enjoyed each others company.

Snapper and Walton are like Abbott and Costello....they argue during the game but they are having hella fun and it makes the game fun to watch even if it's a terrible game.

Breen is a jerk!

costas was a bias idiot who jabbered about nothing. marv and fratello were good because they banter back and forth. breen is average. there are worse commentators like last night. i was forced to watch the knicks game on comcast philly. talk about biased commentating. steve mix and the other idiot were drooling over there players like they are defending champs and saying how much the knicks pretty much suck. i would say that it was just last night's game but they do that in all of their games. ariza did that dunk, no reaction. then salmons does a lay up it is like he won the dunk contest.
