Chicago you want Antonio Davis back?? Tough. I want Sweetney back. If Antonio Davis doesnt feel like playing for us, too bad. We will keep him and just use him as a trading chip. We dont care if we are paying you to just sit there. This is New York, you can whine and complain all you want (see Penny Hardaway) but your butt is stayin put till we find a use for you.

Better yet, if Chicago wont let go of Sweetney, we wont let go of Antonio.

Hey guys what are the probabilities of Chicago waiving Sweetney?

During yesterday's scrimmage, a couple of balls flew through Curry's hands but at times the 6-11 phenom showed dominance in getting the ball low, barreling to the basket for a layup. Curry also converted an alley-oop dunk.

Curry has always killed the Knicks inside, averaging 15 points in his four seasons and was especially motivated last season.

"Jamal [Crawford] had a big mouth," Curry said. "Every time we got ready to play each other, he talked so much trash. He's always bragging about his big guys. I just wanted to go out there and put on a show."

becareful, the salary matchup that comes close is they send TT back.

We give him 2 million, we save 12 mil.

Sweets won't get waived. No chance. Even if he does, there are teams that have cap space that could offer much more than we could.

We need to just say no to getting Tim Thomas back. That is unacceptable he left his heart somewhere in Milwaukee if anyone has seen it please return it to him as soon as possible.

"At this particular point, I don't know what I'm going to do," Davis told the Sun-Times. "It is a lot of money to walk away from. But a lot of times it's just not about the money, it's about quality of life."

I like Chicago as a city, but Im sorry, 'Qaulity of life' is bs.

AD, you give me your $13m and I'll live it up better in NYC than you ever could in Chicago.

CHICAGO, NOT N.Y., IS DAVIS' KIND OF TOWN
October 11, 2005 -- CHARLESTON — The charade that is Antonio Davis' Knicks career continued yesterday as he remained in Chicago while his new teammates went through their seventh day of training camp.
Davis, 37 and in the last year of his deal, does not want to play for the Knicks who acquired him last week in the Eddy Curry trade, but team president Isiah Thomas is not willing to waive him and be liable for the full $13.7 million. Knicks officials, sources say, are amenable to a buyout that could save them a few million on his contract. Davis would then re-sign with Chicago.

Davis reported to Charleston Wednesday night, dined at a ritzy seafood restaurant, watched one practice, then left for Chicago on Thursday. The Knicks said Davis bolted because his mother-in-law was having surgery, but coach Larry Brown thought Davis would be at yesterday's practice. Brown still expects him to be at today's. However, Davis was not en route as of last night.

After the trade, Davis told the Chicago Sun-Times he would consider retirement.

"At this particular point, I don't know what I'm going to do," Davis told the Sun-Times. "It is a lot of money to walk away from. But a lot of times it's just not about the money, it's about quality of life."

The Knicks' starting power-forward slot is up for grabs and Davis knows Brown well, having played for him on some powerful Pacers teams. But Davis' wife is a Chicago native and his kids are in school there.

Brown said a few days ago the Knicks would "move on" if Davis didn't want to join the team. Thomas hopes Davis either changes his mind or accepts a buyout.

Why so bitter towards Antonio? How would you feel if your mother was sick and having surgery (I think that's the exact thing) and was just settling down with your family, about ready to retire with the absolute need to be with your family, when suddenly, you find out your being moved to NY. It's part of the business, but I can totally understand the position Antonio is taking. With that being said, when his family issues are solved, he should still definitely come to NY and if he doesn't, we need to buy him out for a price that really favors us.

Not only that but I'm sure guys have had much worse turmoil while being traded than thier mother in law being sick. Try the actually death of a sibling or parent. Not to undermind the sickness of his mother-in-law. These things have actually happened to guys over the years I'm sure. And this during a difficlut time. And don't even get me started on the "he was getting ready to settle down and retire" thing. Listen, if these things were that important to him, he'd just retire now so that there would be no chance of him being shipped anywhere. How does one play in the NBA knowing that being traded is a HUGE part of it but at the same time he wants to stay in one place with his family b/c of his ailing mother-in-law? If staying by her side was as important as he's making it seem (now that he's traded) why not retired already? Can't have you're cake and eat it too.

As far as quality of living....come on now. For one, it's not like he's a 'country living' guy who doesn't want to come to city life. Chicago is the big city as well. You're coming from on of America's bigger city life experiences to a different city life experience. It's not like he's used to mountains and forests and lakes and now he has to totally take on another environment. Hell, the man played in Canada! Secondly, who says he has to give up his house in Chicago? Plenty of players live in different states. They'll get something temporary here and keep their house in the state of their choice.

Lastly, another reason for Antonio being a punk. I'm sorry, I'm a married man and I don't understand dude. I remember when he was a free agent, he CHOSE to play in Toronto. He CHOSE to live their and play for the Raptors? Why? All because his wife wanted a job working with the organization too and that was the deciding factor. Now here we are in a situation where he's traded (which is just as much a part of basketball as the 3 point shot) and it again comes down to his wife? Either his woman is really in charge or he uses his wife as an excuse for things.

Now that I think about it, I don't even want dude here if that's the case. Dale Davis should have been on the roster instead. Both played for Larry. Both are at the same point in their career. Damn, why couldn't it be Dale who played with Chicago? At least he would have showed up for work and did his job. We got the wrong Davis I suppose.

Stop sweating AD.

So what if he wants to walk away from $13mil?

It doesn't make him a bad person, or a punk.

It just makes him a non-Knick.

His loss.

It's clear the mother-in-law story is bull,

but he's entitled to do what suits him.

It just confuses me when fans (yes, you Monk)

are so quick to make character judgements

about grown men

when only a pidling amount of BOGUS info is available.

Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

Granted, but what does the mother in law and 'value of living' have to do with anything? Just keep ya mouth shut and carry out the deal.

I think that's the point he doesn't want to walk away from the $13 million. He wants the Knicks to pay him the $13 million and release him so he can play for Chicago for the minimum. Just think about it, he wants the Knicks to pay him his max contract including the trade kicker (that's the best part) just to release to Chicago. Yeah I agree with Isiah on this one, this ain't charity. I know Dolan spends money wildly but this is ridculous. I guess his grief over his sick mother-in-law is making him real stupid.

Damn at least Anderson was a Knick for a couple of seasons and by all accounts wanted to remain one. Just didn't get along with IT. I don't believe for one second now that AD being waive was ever part of any deal because they would have kept it quiet, Davis would have shown up to Knicks camp like a good soldier and waited. Chicago may have privately held that thought.
