I know we all want Curry and Frye to start there someday, but looking at the team we have, I'm thinking Jerome James and Curry start at the 5 and the 4, respectively.

I'm looking at:

Marbury/ Nate
Quentin/ Craw
Ariza/ Q/ Lee
Curry/ Frye/ Lee/ AD
James/ Frye/ AD

as the core group that gets minutes. I'm sure Rose will get some minutes too. Honestly, I haven't seen Curry play much and I don't know if he can handle playing the 4 on a nightly basis. Maybe eventually Curry is the starting 5 and Frye or Lee is the starting 4. Thoughts?

It's going to be interesting to see. We still have to get the forward situation clarified, and that could mean another move.

My prediction for our starting lineup is: Marb, Q, Ariza, Curry and James........but, Frye will see a hell of a lot of minutes at both Center and PF....

I actually like the roster after the proposed Curry trade quite a bit. It seems incredibly balanced. deep with bigs, deep on the wing and deep in guards. I like it a lot. this team can go with so many different looks, it's nuts.

and we still have two expiring max deals if something really juicy pops up in february.

finally, a balanced roster with multiple talented bigs!

I could see that with Brown. I wouldn't hate it, but I'd hope the kids got some burn. Wasn't Davis having health problems last year? I don't remember him playing much.

oh, looks like he played in 72 games, but only 25mpg. he could be useful. kind of like a brian grant/ kurt thomas type. I'd hope he comes off the bench though.

I'd start Davis and Curry on the front line. I think after about 30 games or so that Frye should prove himself as a capable starter and he will be slid into the 4 and we could move Davis to the bench. What a killer bench this team is going to have: Nate, Houston, Ariza, Davis, James... that bench is pretty damn good.

according to the realGM Bulls guys, Sam Smith said on ESPN radio that ADavis will be released once the season starts so he can go back to Chicago. let's see Zeke mention expiring deal when he does that one... heh...

i dont get it. when it comes to expiring deals it doesn't matter if a team is trading for AD or TT. an expiring deal is an expiring deal for a team looking to move an unhappy player. I don't think Isiah will waive his $14mm expiring contract. He will get something in return or simply let him expire. Then he can go back to Chicago. Why go back to chicago anyway. they're decent but not that good!

Maybe Mo Taylor will have a role in our front court rotation...

he doesn't want to move his family around again and supposedly loves everyone in Chicago. maybe he'll stay here, I can't see Zeke giving away an asset like that, but who knows?

Coach Brown may be forced to start Malik Rose. He's our best frontcourt rebounder right now. Maybe Lee could prove to be a good rebounder but as is, Malik is the only player we have who is a Kurt Thomas type of rebounder. Brown may have no choice. We need second chance points.

Davis has had nagging injuries and isn't as quick as he once was. Malik is short, be that as it may. He's still a hustle player and LB is going to like him. Davis is one or two seasons away from retirement IMO.
