No way.

Way too much.

Pax can try to step on our toes as much as he wants...ain't gonna happen. Isiah isn't THAT dumb.

Unless this entire time Pax really has been trying to lowball a perfectly healthy Curry, that's overkill.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

playerwise, we'd basically be giving up Lee+Sweetney. Neither of which have done as much as Curry. And this would allow Frye to play the 4, next to Curry, which most believe he is better suited for. I dont see giving up Lee+Sweets as too much for Curry, as i doubt either one could even be as good as Curry can be.

That's not the point buddy boy.

This is called negotiations. You don't give up more than you have to at this point. Pax has dug himself a hole here. Why should we pull him out?

Yes, I would love to have Curry in NY. But overpaying for players is what Layden would do. Timmy will have huge value near the trading deadline, and while nothings definite by then, you don't just discount that. Penny's a different story though.

As of right now, Sweets + Lee + TT is WAY too much to give up for a player whose value is at an all time low.

Sure, if this was a healthy Curry we were talkin about, then ya, pull the trigger. But there's some imminent risk we're takin on with Eddy. And you don't trade the farm for a player with heart issues.

If Chicago was sending us a 1st rounder then ya, I'd do it. But not straight up like that, even with Antonio Davis.....

new rules this year. 1st round picks can be traded something like 60 days after signing.

Thanks for the clarification. That's a good change. The old rule was pointless.

No its not man.

We're not talkin about a healthy Curry here.

We're taking on a pretty big risk by trading for him, and while I want Isiah to get it done, you can't just give away youth like that.

What our goal should be is to give away just enough so that, in the unlikely but possible case that Curry retires in a bodybag, we won't feel the consequences too much of giving away whoever we trade...

well, on one hand if you are so high on someone that you are willing to max him out, then you must be willing to give up a player who we got with pick 30 who is way down on the depth chart

if its lee, i have to imagine we will give him.

That would be a poor negotiating move on Isiah's part.

If it's Penny, Sweets, and Lee for Curry and Davis, then ya I'd consider it.

But some of you act as if TT has zero value. I hate him as a player, but his trade value will skyrocket later in the season...

I'm sure if isiah does this deal, he *knows* Curry will be healthy and that his health problems are an over-exagerration.

also, will curry and frye be a good combo? i mean both of them are below average rebounders. hmm
i wouldnt do it, i would just wait this out, i have a feeling the bulls will eventually take our first offer of tt, sweet and pick

The combo wouldn't be Curry and Frye.

It would be Curry and James...

I gotta agree with Bob on this one. I want Curry to be a Knick; very badly. At the same time you have to look at what the timeline of events in his offseason so far. Paxson is only willing to give him the Qualifying Offer which is a 1 year deal, why should we overpay for someone whom he feels only deserves the qualifying offer(we all know the reasons.) It's simple negotiations at this point, TT and Penny are going to have major value at the trade deadline this season and Paxson knows this. It just seems to me that Paxson is making a whole lot of demands for a player with a heart problem that he offered a 1 year deal too.
