I don't get this, most of the teams that didn't do well last season have started training camp unofficially, even the Suns have some players working together to help improve their squad. Why not the Knicks? For a team with the highest payroll in the league, and one that only won 30+ games last season, it makes no sense what so ever for one of our Captains not to step up and take the initiative to bring in especially the new players and start developing some chemistry before the official training camp. I am very disappointed at Zeke for not pointing that out to one of his students (Marburry). Instead of building some TEAM cohesion with his team, Marburry is in Phoenix training with Amare and others.

Good Leaders train with their teams to improve their weaknesses. If Marb is going to be our leader, he needs to start demontrating these sorts of attributes.

Marb is my boy, but he needs to start acting like a true leader in my opinion

first of all players cant orgaize and practice as a team. Its against the CBA. Second, every one of these guys is working. There's video thats just been posted of Crawford and Nate playing a game with Martell Webster and some others. All these guys are pros, and they all live in different areas of the country. What's Marbury supposed to do? Fly everyone out for a little pow wow? Its the player's responsibility to show up to camp in shape and ready to play. Leadership happens on the court.

Just for the record their ARE Knick players playing together.

Did Ewing ever practice in the offseason with new Knick players? Did Jordan? These guys work out and play golf.

Stop listening to the voices, except the ones that tell you to mail checks to fishmike inc.

On the court and in the lockeroom. I don't think it's a matter of "Who's our leader?". The way I see it, everyone of the Knicks should step up and just play their games and be leaders, including Ariza, Lee, Nate, Frye and so and so. Leadership just doesn't have to come from the superstar rememeber. Raja Bell and Matt Harpring were the captains of the Jazz remember. It's all a matter of, to me, who is willing to step up and be productive and play their best every night. If you can't be that, I don't want you on the team.

You guys are insane. You have all failed to realize what I was trying to point out. Our team is in some serious need for cohesion, the sooner our boys get together to develop it is the better. We will have a new General in Larry, and TT and Marb are the only two that were exposed to his style of coaching. If one of those two take it upon himself to assemble a few of our boys to hit the court and practice, the reward will be very visible. I understand that many of you are counting on training camp, but it is a mistake. Jordan didn't even have to ask his team-mates to come and work out, they took it upon themselves to work out with him. To be on the same sheet of music, our boys will need to spend as much time together without coaches shouting instructions at them. A few pickup games here and there as a team will do our boys a lot of goods.

If it wasn't important, I wonder why the Suns and many other teams are doing it. See Garnett, Amare, Duncan, Grant Hill, and many others...Trust me, you can't be lazzy in this league.

Seriously... do you just make this stuff up? Who's lazy? Amare was playing with Marbury. Grant Hill is rehabbing. Guys play together offseason, depending on where they are. All you should be concerned about is who's in shape and who isnt. Marbury is ALWAYS in great shape. The onus is 100% on the player. If i am late for work its my fault and my responsibility. Not my boss, my coworkers or anyone else. If I take long lunches and shop during work ours its because I'm lazy and made the choice to do so, not because of poor leadership or any other crap.

Leadership is only as good as the soldiers.

I'm not worried in the least. Even in pickup games playing with strangers, you can see that guys know what to do on the court. I don't think its going to hurt us if the guys don't get together as a group and workout before camp. I just want them to be in the best shape they can and come ready to learn. From what i've seen in many videos, guys are doing just that.

Plus remember that LB has LONG practices and he does a lot of teaching, so I think his camp will be like 2 of a regular camp for the Knicks. Lenny must have been so easy on the guys that this will seem like boot camp.

As long as the team gels early on, we'll be okay. LB will hopefully bring leadership skills out in our players- no just Stephon, either.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

The other thing is maybe leadership is not in the card for marbs. Its not a knock on him, but being the most talented is not always the best captain. It helps if you have leadership gene, but if you don't, move on.

I can accept him for who he is. Better for him not to lead than do it badly!

I am a little worried about the gut he had in those pictures from a party about a month ago. But I assume you mean he's always been in shape *during the NBA season*. I hope he'll come to camp in top shape like usual.
