fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

we've got to start winning to move up in the power rankings. we haven't consistently shown we deserve to be in the top half or higher in years. hopefully this squad will do that, we'll see.

That is true, Any realistic reckoning of the Knicks can't land us much higher (Or lower) than 20.

I don't think Golden State (16) is really much better than the Knicks, nor the Bucks(19). There are so many 'buts' with those teams, just like the Knicks. Any of these teams have the same problem: If we click, if so and so realizes his potential, etc.

I think Utah should be ranked higher, they have 2 stars in the front court, one (Kirilenko) of whom I think was acheiving stardom as the games best all-around player. If Deron Williams is the goods (I think he will be.)then Utah should be in the thick of things, not a contender, but a good squad.

Here's hoping everyone on the Knicks reach their potential, they click and become Sacramento-unselfish.

Minnesota IS NOT better than us!!!!

Milwaukee IS NOT better than us!!!! Bobby Simmons and Bogut do not make them a better team than us!!!!!!

GOlden State will not place hihgher than us because they are playing in the east.

There are not4 times better than Indiana in the league, period!!!

No FREAKIN WAY we win only 33 games next year!! Its an insult to our improved roster and Lary Brown to write that. I HATE SPORTS WRITERS!!!!!

33 wins was last years win total, not a predicter. Our rookies are not seen as impact players right away. Bogut is the starting center and a definate upgrade to what they had. Big game is a nice backup.

I have a problem with seattle placed as high after losing some pieces and its coach, and boston. I hate the celts, so objectivity is lost on me.

According to Larry, look for the team to start slow and learn things. The power ranking is a ever changing list and perhaps being 20th was a bit charitable for now. The team wins, its rankng goes up. THis is a preseason ranking. and until the games are played, purley subjective.

I think the lakes are a bit under ranked. I think Phil adds some games also!

Tell Me Larry is going to play our vets to win and I think we are a 500. team. Give big min to the Rookies, and Reezy-Sweets and just shy of .500 is likely, with an emphasis that we finish a whole lot stronger than we start.

These rankings look like a fair assessment- while we got better, so did a lot of other teams.

Agreed. We're still pretty weak in the frontcourt, while many of the teams ranked higher have better frontcourts.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I think we might be better than Seattle, and Minnesota might take some time to mesh (although the fact that they have garnett should mean they will be better than us). Golden state played a lot better with baron davis and jason richardson - i got to see them a lot since i go to school in the bay area, and they have a decent front court. I think we will move up to maybe 14 by the end of the year, but there is no team ahead of us that I can say we will definitely be better than, and the fact that we are ahead of the clips, lakers, and jazz shows that this isn't really biased. In honesty, everyone thinks their team will be a lot better than the previous season, but we will havea general idea of who improved after we see the first 20 games who really improved.

I think that's gonna depend on how Sweetney and Frye develop and whether TT plays better in a contract year. I wouldn't be shocked if he at least returned to the 16/5 player with mediocre defense that he was as a Knick two years ago, which would be a huge improvement from last year. I think we both agree that the Knicks improved but not enough to move up substantially in the power rankings. I think they're closer to being an average team (39 to 43 wins) right now and would have ranked them slightly higher than 20. I'm still optimistic that the team will be improved after Isiah uses the trade assets. I highly doubt he plans to just let the epiring contracts expire--that's obviously not his (or Dolan's) style.

it goes by wins and talent.

Last year when we were playing well and were something like 15-12 we were around 13-14. This team has a million quesions and I think its going to take LB a year to get these guys playing ball the right way

I know most around here dont want to hear it, but it really would be best. Just like when Hubie took over for the Grizz. They still only won 30 something games and were a lottery team but you could see the team playing better on D and getting closer to playing a style of ball. The next year they won 50 games.

If we could get a system in place, get the young players playing well and get them some experience, let Penny and TT just walk and add a couple more good young players, preferable one with impact lottery type talent I think that would serve us best.

So you have to change the entire direction of rebuilding because of one disappointing season?

Seems like Isiah did. Last year he rebuffed publically we rebuilding. Now it looks like rebuilding, but in "knick style".

It is what it is.
