Toronto is listed with Loren woods starting.

I stopped reading. I can wait until the season starts to get some real facts.

That's alot for a starting lineup in the East. Especially if you've got people who can score off the bench (etc. Ariza, Frye, Nate, TT)

Im very hopeful that they move Marbury to a Iversen -like 2 G and Crawford to 1. I DONT like Q in the SL, I think that Tim Thomas makes much more sense, even if his overall minutes are limited. It gives Tim the opportunity to play hard and earn extra minutes because his game at optimum levels is still very high caliber, and when he goes to the dark side we can pul him quite quickly.

I like starting Frye at 4 and bringing Sweetney and Taylor in that order off the bench and we have the luxury of having to more bangers in Lee and Malik on the bench---our BIGGEST hope is our quality depth--just look at all of the size we have compared to a lot of clubs.

I like the Q-Rich Nate-Ariza squad off the bench--seems like there can be a lot of synergy with that 2nd unit

Ive given a lot of thought to this, and I really do believe we have a chance to do damage this year, to possibly be a lot better than people think, and this is the first time in or so years that I feel if everything hits right, we can be very very competitive because we do have a lot of solid depth that makes sense.

Now if we go in and the theory is chucking 30 3s, and James, Sweetney and Frye play poorly, then we have trouble. But if Crawford sticks to pure 1, Marbury plays a true 2, the guys inside play up to their capabilities and we are able to move guys in and out, so as to not over play them and rely on that depth---I feel we could do some real positive things

Certainly we are still in the unkown buffer zone-we can go either way, but realisticaly for the first time in years I see real hope. ButI think that starts with puting Craw at 1 Starbury at pure 2 and establishing the post every game, while throwing waves of depth at teams.

LB does not allow for three's to be just chucked up there. No threes really. His philosophy is get as close to the goal as possible and then only if you are open do you take the open shot.

But we could be very solid - top of Atlantic division if everything clicks. We do have good players, just no mega stars. Mega stars dont hack it in the NBA anymore. Look at Minny last year with KG. You need a whole team.

Briggs... isnt that the proto type of a bench player? Like when Starks won 6th man? Let TT come in off the bench, attack the basket, use his size and if he's loafing get his ass out of there.

i'm not sure i get what you're saying but marbs should be playing where again?

the word of the season is "IF"

"IF" - the same word that followed tim around his entire career
"IF" - steph utilizes his talents to make others better
"IF" - jamal continues to grow
"IF" - big game can play for 25-30 mins a night
"IF" - frye develops and sweets get a fair shot

"IF" "IF" "IF"

one thing we do know that we can't say "IF" we had a better coach.

this season is all on the players and isiah. we'll have a better idea in a few more weeks.

I fully agree DJ. I think everyone knows I support Isiah, but if this blows up and the Knicks are out there looking like they have no idea what kind of style to play EVEN WITH Larry Brown as coach, then this is where Isiah gets all the blame for putting this team together.

If for whatever reason Dolan came up to me and told me to put my starting lineup together I think I would tell him: PG-Marbury, SG-Q, SF-TT, PF-Sweetney, C-James. Which would leave the Knicks with Nate, Craw, Frye, Ariza and Lee on the bench as a SICK second unit.

I'm optimistic (44 wins) but if at the end of the year the Knicks are not better then a 35 win team then I'm going to have some real questions as to where Isiah was planning on going with this team. Obviously that can all change if at the trade deadline he goes out and gets a trube 4 or 5 with Timmy or Pennys expiring deal but until then, that's on the backburner.

First off, I like the concept of starting three guys 6-10+ on the frontline. Tim Thomas is the exact opposite of an energy player, but he still has premium talent on some nights. Subbing in an Ariza brings that energy that makes a bench good. Just because you start, doesnt mean anything other than a coordinated way to run your roster.

yeah. It's IT's job to get the players and the coach. LB has a lot of talent to work with and mold into a team. That's what training camp is for. Also, a big also, is that LB has the ability to say to anyone on the team that if they are not performing to his expectations that they will be benched and or they will be fined / docked pay.

If Frye, Sweets and James continue their knack to immitate Spencer "6 Fouls in 5 minutes For Hire" Haywood, we will need the depth we have right now at PF with Rose, Lee and Taylor coming in off the bench. Plus our front court is deep enough for a player to be injured and the knicks not sustain a serious drop off in talent in the front court. Most other teams can not say that. If Tim D goes down, the Spurs are sunk. LB's job is to make this team a TEAM and for them to play together to the best of their abilities.

Steph, Q, Ariza or TT, Frye, JJ or Craw, Steph, Q, Frye, and JJ

no players other than Marbury and Q played well enough last year to earn a starting spot this year on the Knicks.
