If there was a player that I would want to back up Marbs or possibly start on the Knicks I think it would be Earl Watson. Watson is a tough defender and he is a underrated scorer and passer.

He reminds me of Dennis Johnson or Derek Harper or maybe Doc Rivers.

I think it's a shame that he might be headign to Denver to play 3rd fiddle behind Miller and Boykins. Not too many teams need a point guard.

yeah....Dennis Johnson was damn good before he got old in Boston. Even in Boston he was a good player. Don't sleep.

Regardless of who I'm comparing him to.....Earl Watson is a Knick at heart.

Clevland needs a point guard. Earl would be great to have with Lebron. Watson is a tough cookie. Hughes and Watson are both great in the passing lanes. It will set the tone for that team.

Watson, Watson, Watson....I hope he goes to Clevland.

i'm not saying DJ wasn't good, from what i seen with my own eyes and read about the guy he was a damn good player.

played defense so good he could shut down a 7/11 store.

i don't think earl watson reminds me of him at all but you know wha they say, beautyis in the eyes of the beholder

Maybe in a toughness sense, but Watson is a midget compared to all of those guys who were BIG for point guards 6'5, 6'4, 6'4 respectively and they played like big dudes. Totally different games.

I am not disparaging Watson, I actually saw a highlight where he jammed back a rebound on the break. He was up there yo! And I never saw Doc, Derek, or DJ do that.

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

guys, Watson sucks. Honestly he's really bad. Ive watched him... alot. The best I can say is he's Charlie Ward without the jumper. Now we all remember CW had some nice moments getting steals and playing hard D. He had some respectable moments against Marc Jackson and Tim Hardaway even, but he got toasted just as many times. Watson played against 2nd units. Add to it the Grizz had one of the best 2nd units in hoops with guys like Stro, Cardinal, Posey, Dante Jones... it was a good unit.. He cant sniff Nate's physical gifts and he isnt close to being as talented as Marbury or Crawford. This guy has no place on our squad.

What you see is what you get right now for the Knicks. We will see if something opens up midseason as teams may opt for cutting payroll at some point.

Fish, Mark Jackson and Hardaway ate Charlie Ward alive (Not to mention Chris Childs.)! Anytime he 'got' those guys, he had to pay for it many times over.

That may be true for the most part, but I wouldn't say that he can't sniff Nate's physical gifts (Did you read about his jamback?), he is only a couple of inches taller and he is competing pretty well in the NBA for a few years now. Watson was also a more celebrated player in the same conference that Robinson played in. I still think Robinson will be better than Watson though. Also, Watson is much faster than Ward ever was.

Dennis Johnson-Earl Watson? what where when how? you mean Seattle-Boston's DJ? First of Im pretty sure he is in the hall of fame, i mean you are talking about a great, great all star level multiple championship starting PG who was a great 2 way player--he was a big PG, remember when the celtics played ainge and DJ in their backcourt? hes about 6-5 and had a sweet top of the key j. Sorry on this one, this is very vERY very far apart.

earl watson is darn lucky if what they say is true--he got an mle

not that he isnt kind of close to worth it today, but a lot of money was dried up--he hit the jackpot

earl watson=a more athletic version of a young howard eisley with more upside

I'm an old Celtic fan, and to compare DJ to Earl friggin Watson is like Comparing Mike Dunleavy to Larry Bird...
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
