SA is shopping Nestrovic. They need a SF.
We have a glut at G/SF position. Marbury & Craw are here to stay. We need a big man. So, how about Q-Rich for Nestrovic & rights to Ian Mahinmi (SA's #28th selection of 2005 draft http://nbadraft.net/profiles/ianmahinmi.asp). The #s work on Real GM. SA gets a SF who can score/rebound in Q-Rich. He is 25 yrs old, 4 yrs younger than Nestrovic. He has 5 yrs $37mm left on his deal (compared to 4 yrs $30mm ofr Nestrovic) NY gets Nestrovic who I believe is better than JJ. He's a 7 footer who can score, rebound and block shots (though he didn't have a good yr). Mahinmi, a 19 yr old 6-10 PF, is supposed to be a monster prospect with good rebound & shot blocking skills. NY Lineup Crawford / Nate Marbury / Ariza / Houston TT / Lee / Rose Sweetney / Frye / Taylor Nestrovic / JJ / Butler Rights to Mahinmi I'd do this deal since it solves a glut at the perimeter and nets us a C & great prospect in Mahinmi. I see Craw as our starting PG, Marbury as SG, Ariza as future starting SF. Nestrovic is not a star C but having him and JJ, both 7+ ft, is a big frontcourt upgrade and allows Frye to take his time learing the ropes. Thoughts? |
