after mchale continues to botch move after move during his ENTIRE history as the wolves GM (barring a few), he made a good trade here for jaric and a #1.

clips can use cassell to make the playoffs for the first time (although livingston is going to be THE TRUTH) or move him at the deadline to a contender - cassell will have ALOT of value at the break.

Now the word is that Minny is sending Cassell AND a first rounder to LAC for Jaric and Lionel Chalmers....I do not like this deal for the Wolves, at first they were getting the pick now they are giving the pick

This is a shocking trade because it means the Clippers are actually committed to winning, lol. Getting Cassell shows they are trying to get some better experience behind Livingston.

Question? When is McHale gonna stop playing around and trade us Garnett?!?!?!?!?!

So Cassell's coming off the bench or starting in front of Livingston?

Either way, the Clipps are gonna have a solid team next year.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Jaric's a good young player. It would make no sense if Minny were getting a pick too. They probably feel Cassel is almost done and their pick next year will be around #20, which probably won't yield as good a player as Jaric.

Are the Clips serious about winning or did they just prefer a stop gap PG with an expiring contract over signing Jaric to an expensive long-term deal?

this is a steal for lA

they got the best player in the trade, they get, what i believe could easily be a 7th or 8th place team in the west pick==13-16

yes cassell is on the last bus ride out in the next 2 -3 years, but this is a guy who has averaged 19 pts 7 assis 4 reb shooting 47.3% avg for the 5 years before he got hurt last year, as good as any PG in the NBA.

You throw in the firepower of mobley casell maggette with livingston Ewing and Korvolev as the young guys with Brand Kaman Wilcox Rebraca up front, that could be a very good team, capable of being a top 4 west team, AND if healthy vie to go DEEP in the playoffs.

true. but when have the clips ever lived up to their promise? maybe the moves bringing in veterans like cassell and mobley is to change that

KG is more available than Brand at this point. The Big Ticket can't be happy with the "value" they got for Cassell. (queue 50 more KG to the Knicks trade "ideas"...)

I think whats being overlooked here is that not only is Cassel most likely done, but Jaric also had better assist numbers then him even last year.

Jaric averaged 6.1 to 5.4 or something like that (I'm gettin this from talkin to a freind, so I don't remember what he sas exactly), so Minny might be a gettin a better player in this deal.

This could piss of Garnet though, as he is not exaclty a fan of white players.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?
