Maybe LB will try to get him. He is reliable and steady if not spectacular, might help Crawford's development.

We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

If McKie is playing, why don't we just dress Herb as our back up center!

WOW! That's is the first time I think I have ever heard the two words McKie and spectacular in the same sentence.

Mckie is a good player and will work in the system. He's already better than Hardaway and Houston are at this point, can play three positions and hits the three well. He also plays good defense I would spend the 1.7 exception on him in a second.

Kidding aside, I would do it too. The guy can bring across what LB wants from his players and be a spark. Imagine a second unit with Rose, McKie and Ariza with maybe Nate. A lot of energy for sure.

WHY would we need McKie? We really do have enough bench help at this point. Unless we are doing this just to appease LB. I can't see any rational reason for picking him up.
I say enough already with adding players to this team who won't make any difference in our standing this year.

Mckie is a bumb. His handle is terrible. He is a spaz.

BUT.....

He plays hard and he finds a way to make the big plays.

No I don't want him....if we were to get him it would have been nice to trade one of our power fwds for him.

Getting him would not change anything or warrant a Crawford trade. Mckie would just be an emergancy vet on the bench.....provide leadership and chemistry in the locker room......only guy that knows Larry's system.

I think we have enough "hustle" players on this team already.

Mckie is starting to get up there in age so he's no spring chicken..

ALso, we don't need him... We already got Crawford, Q playing 2 or 3 positions..

I think we need to realize that it has been quite some time since Snow, Olie, McKie, etc, where any good.

Their usefulnes is very much in the past.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I think if we wanted to sign a snow type of player we should go younger. The guy that comes to mind for me is will conroy from the university of washington - he was pretty much the team leader all season. One of the games I saw washington play live they lost becuase conroy was in foul trouble and wasn't out on the floor - they were a completely different team without him out there. he was a real smart player and a lot of people considered him the defensive anchor - he was a good perimeter and on the ball defender with a high bball IQ. add to that he's very close to Nate robinson from whne they were teammates and he's also real close to Jamal Crawford - JC lived with conroy's family when he was growing up. Conroy could probably be had for the minimum and I'd much rather have a cheap, young guard that could develop into a snow type than go out and get an aging eric snow.

Fred Kerber reported in the NY Post that the Nets are looking to sign Mckie. Good enough for the Nets!

I love Brown as a coach, but I don't think that it is in our advantage to bring in a guy like Snow to be our backup PG. Snow is too expensive and is not an effective enough guard to have in our back court. I would say stand pat and see what we have once training camp is done with, because you never know what Crawfford will look like once he spend training camp absorbing what LB preaches. Marb should be our starting PG, and Crawff should be our backup PG and SG. The problem is with Nate....he is not a true PG, and we wont know what he is capable off until the season starts.

Hang on to what we have, and wait the course for now.
