Knicks all the way. By the time we're done dealing, our superiority over the Nets will be even more obvious.

Kidd is another year older, on those creaky knees.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Nets are not done with roster. I think Marc Jax is a backup until they figure it out.

NEts will have better record this year. Sorry, not what I want, just what I see!

Depends on health of their starters.

W/out Reef they are much closer to us then to the elite of the conference.

They really can't afford any significant injuries to either Carter, Kidd or Jefferson. And their bench still sucks, not that Collins has to start. Its filled with hasbeens (Cliff Robinson) and young unproven guys like Wright. Jackson might help them, but his defens sucks.

I have to say if we play them when their big three is healthy they have the upper hand, but w/o either we can take them down.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I think they are a lot better. Knick fans have hope, Net fans have the last 5 Atlantic titles. Yes, Kidd is a year older, but he's still a hell of a player and a great leader. Now RJ comes back healthy giving them great firepower with Carter/RJ. I actually like their bench of Wright/Colins/Cliff
I think they have good chemistry and are well coached. Knicks have way to many unkowns right now. I like our young players a lot right now, but a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, and the Nets have been giving us the bird for some time now. I still think we are a year away.

nets could also end up signing brian grant for a year or two.

nets are WAY better, it's not even a question.

we have to WIN first before we can even have this debate.

Ouch! LOL

Well, it's time we flip the bird right back at 'em!
The Shareef deal blunder was only the first of many pitfalls for the Nets IMO. That bad luck trend will continue thru the season.

You might want to take another look at last year's standings fish.

my bad... 4 of 5. While the Nets battled REAL injuries to star players like Kidd and RJ they continue to make the playoffs and win division titles. Knicks miss Crawford for a couple weeks and its boo hoo not fair only because of injuries did we have a bad season.

This is a dumb discussion. When the Kbicks can beat the Nets or anyone for that matter dig this up.

Those 4 titles were when the east was weak and they had K-Mart. Those years are hardly relevant to the team now. If (and it's a huge if) NJ's 3 key players stay health, they are better than the Knicks, though (at least until Isiah pulls off a big trade with the expiring contracts and other assets)

By the end of the summer, we shall have a better idea of who will have a better record.

Right now, I think the Knicks have more talent and a better coach which will lead to a better record.

so, the nets and knicks still have roster moves to make, but you believe in the nets Unforeseen move over the knicks current roster and/or unforseen move.

Way to go fan.

Its really hard to say right now. The Nets have the big 3 and that can't be overlooked. We don't really know how they'll work over an entire season tho. Maybe it won't be as smooth a ride as we think. Its not how them match up against us, its how they'll do against the rest of the league. They're frontcourt is very iffy.

Right this second i'd say the Nets have a slight edge, but over the course of an entire season, we may be in better shape to withstand the rigors of 82 games and handle injuries better than they can.

Head to head the Nets might have problems with our team speed. Especially our bench players who are all quick as lightning. N8, JC, Ariza & Frye.

So I guess, Fish, you wiped Houston clear from the Knick roster.

I think his view was that you couldn't go into the season depending on Houston anyway. That said, of course on any other team Houston would qualify as a player whose injury hurt the team.

we will have to see what carter and RJ can do a full season with the nets but to say that they are way... better than the knicks is nonsence

Nj still has the better palyer between both teams.. As a matter of fact, they probably have the best trio between both teams. When thats the case, you're usually the better team..
