orl has only 2 options--because they are over the salary cap, they can either renounce his rights or trade his rights before the season.
Because the Magic are over the cap, it would cost the Magic approximately 3.5 mm for him to play in Spain to keep his rights. With a 4 year contract, Im sure that isnt an option. They need to find a club well under the cap for the next few years--perhaps a New Orleans? and see if they can get a future 2nd rounder.

I agree.....they should have drafted need. Josh Howard and Fran? Pretty dumb. They also signed Dooling when they already have Francis and Nelson. Dooling could be their shooting guard, but what the hell?

Maybe when a player enters the draft, they should sign something saying that if they are drafted, they must play in the NBA.

Ya, I agree. There's GOTTA be more to this story than Vasquez just doing them in like that.


I mean, he appeared ready and eager to play for the Magic, and then just pulls a Tyson? Might've been the $$$, or maybe his agent got in his head. Or maybe he's just a jurk...


Either way, just another bummer move by the Magic in a string of recent bummer moves.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Orlando may be a dumb org. but I am fed up with taking these euro players high in the first round, really the first round period. This will not be the last time this happens, Fan is a jackass, should have made it known that he might play overseas. what a idiot..

I'm glad I prefer going to Girona, because he will show what he is capable of. But BRIGGS, the team he has been traded to is going to be a VERY GOOD team this next year. This year they have got Roberto Dueñas (7'3 center from F.C. Barcelona), Carlos Jiménez (Spanish team starting forward) and they will sign Raul Lopez in the next days. The will be one of the best teams in Spain for sure.
