How can any of you complain about this guy's production? If you look at his career record, this dude has been amongst the league leaders. He has provided every team that he has been with his ultimate best, especially when he has talents around him. Take a look at when he was with Minnesota and Phoenix,,,,his production next season will destroy what he did with those two teams. He now has length, athleticism and capable folks around him to make him look good...

The part that bugs me is that from watching Marbury, it's obvious he's always trying to get his teammates involved first and he takes over only when his teammates are incompetent (which was often last year). Yet people still call him a selfish, "score-first" guard. I don't know any other player who's ever led the league in total assists for a season and been called that before. He's not as good a passer as Jason Kidd or Magic or Isiah, but he's not the selfish player that Chad Fraud and a lot of critics make him out to be either.

I have been one of Marbury's biggest defenders here. I think the Larry Brown thing will be good for him. He's not a true superstar, but he's very very close.

I still think he needs more help, but under the right set of circumstances, I could see him leading this pretty far. Not championship far, but pretty far.

We know who you are, never satisfied and always b*tching about every moves that our organization makes. You are all mad because our organization is finally doing what is right to regain our spot among the elited teams. You have all claimed that you are Knicks fans, but deep down, you all bleed Nets' colors.

It's all good, show your true colors.

The selfish label was given to Marb by some of his previous team mates. But, how can one be considered selfish when he averages 10 apg?

Marbury was quoted last year as saying that he looks to score first and then if all else fails, pass. I think he was saying it as some kind of "advice" to another player. I could have sworn it was towards Crawford but he hardly needs advice like that.

Do you think stuff like that makes him look selfish?

things are moving in the right direction, but I wouldn't even think about calling this team "elite" or even approaching "elite." come on.

Marbury will average a double-double (points & assists) this season. His points will decline a bit, yet the assists will increase due to Larry Brown's philosophy.

Keep smacking those haters, diderotn!
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I remember the Crawford part of it well. There was an interview after a game where Crawford admitted he didnt know if he was supposed to shoot or pass. Marbury told him (exact phrase) "when in doubt shoot, thats what I do."
I remember it clearly because it was a rallying point for the "Herb must go" crowd, as he had players that didnt know if they should shoot or pass.

When you have an elite coach and a decent roster, you are not far from reaching elite status. Tell me something, is Minnesota or the Lakers an elite team????????

False? No. There's so much stuff to bring up there's no reason for me to make things up. Never been accused of that either even with my "popularity" on this board.

Chances are pretty good that I won't be able to find a single quote over the course of an entire season but I assure you that I'm not making it up. If you don't want to believe me thats fine but I definitely read it somewhere.

Thanks Fish. I knew it was something like that. I apologize if I didn't get the quote right but I think I got the gist of it.
