There is no available Power Forward who is worth anything that is up for trade. I would love to see an Elton Brand situation arise, like the Clippers are losing again, and we come at them with T Thomas and 2 1st rounders for Elton. But I dont know if I see that happening.

I imagine we will have to play out the season with Sweetney, Taylor, J Williams, M Rose, T Thomas, C Frye, and D Lee all spending time at the 4?

Looks like a mess. I personally would love to see T Thomas, Mo Taylor, and Sweetney moved for someone. But who? WHO! OH GOD WHO!

Antoine Walker.

I don't mind Walker if Brown is going to be coach. Brown will demand respect from the players and will be very instrumental on how they are utilized. Walker would probably have his most effective years as a pro under Brown if that were the case in my estimation.

If Coach Brown can get AI and Sheed to play, he can teach anyone..

We have enough PF for the time being. Lets see if one of teh guys we have can hold their own and take ownership of the position as the starter (hopefully Sweetney) Worst case is that Mo/JYD/Rose get all the minutes while Sweets and Lee sit and don't develop.

Let's not jump the gun on Walker, either. There are bound to be some good players availabe at the deadline, and we have just as many assets to make a Marbury-style megadeal as we did when we got Marbs. (Not saying that's the right thing to do, but just putting it out there)

If Brown is our coach, for sure JYD or Rose will be retained. They are both very fundamental players who would fit perfectly in a Brown's system.

True JYD and Rose are essentially the same player. Keep one of them and move the other with a Penny/TT/Sweetney.

As stated in another thread, Ny needs another All-star caliber player. Antoine is that whether you like him or not. He has been all-star and is averaging 19ppg and 9rpg for his career. The guy is 29 years old on August 12th. I think it is possible to make him play the right way and give NY the second scoring option they need. NY would have to trade 2 of their PF's though for sure. The question is, who would want them? LOL!

I will go on the record as saying that Walker would be a good fit for a Brown coached Knick team for the next 3 years. I would not give him a longer contract than that.

No to Walker unless we will exchange 2 of our PFs for him or another player. However, Larry can get him and the rest of the Knicks to play fundamental basketball.

Maybe a 3-way deal involving the Bobcats (there were rumors of that)

Walker, Lafrentz, Ge. Wallace to NY

Penny, Rose/JYD to BOS

Sweetney, Fut. 2nd to CHA
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

if you guys are willing to move sweetney for toine, then we might as well re-hire layden and let him run the ship.

that would be one of the WORST moves in knick history. bank on it.

• A report in Sunday's Boston Globe indicated the Bobcats might be interested in a three-way deal that would send Celtics free agent Antoine Walker to another team. Bobcats coach/general manager Bernie Bickerstaff said he hasn't heard from Boston, but is always willing to listen.

we don't need sweetney anymore, we've got Lee for the future and Rose and MoT for now.

Sweets no longer fits this team (unless, as every single poster has stated, he loses weight and gets in shape)

20 points, 9 rebounds...are you blind man?

nice try squeezing wallace into a knick uniform, I think that absurd idea was shot down yesterday...we're all set at the 3...especially with Lee playing it in the SL.

why we need to take back someone else is beyond me.

But, once again, kudos for trying to sneak in Wallace.

so, 10 years down the line, sweetney is your man?

Lee hasn't shown you anything?

OK, to each his own...I just didn't feel like sweets was the answer, he never subplanted Kurt...I think he started eating his own press clippings...sorry, reading.

Whereever he is right now, I pray he is getting into shape and getting ready to be the PF we all imagined, however, it's pretty clear EVERY player layden brought in, will be gone.

Sweets is no exception.

40% shooter
what does that say to you coming from a PF?
does that say he's an efficient player?
does that say he's a post player or perimeter oriented?

i still don't get the fascination with him.

he would've been great for us THREE YEARS AGO when we had ZERO ball handlers. but we have 3-4 guys that can handle the rock and distribute. toine is USELESS to us now. USELESS and would actually hurt us long term.

i see sweetney as part of this team for 10 years and playing a major role. is he the answer, we don't know but is toine? and what question is toine answering?

lee is solid also so why can't we hold onto both? i don't get it.

what would walker's purpose be here? to get into the first round, possibly the 2nd and get bounced? and take up VALUABLE minutes that should be going to sweets or frye or even lee?

btw, sweets is ALREADY a more efficient player than toine and ALREADY has a better post game. he does. toine is ALOT of sizzle, but very little steak.

forget the #'s, the 20 points is based purely on the volume of shots he takes b/c god knows he ain't making free throws.

I really don't understand why Walker is bashed so much. Walker is stuck between 3-4 anyway. Wlaker is basically a point forward. Sweetney can't do half the things Walker can do.

Sweets would have the potential to get better if he had the killer instinct. He has the moves inside. Sweets also gets awesome deep position. Still, more times than any he still looks alot like Weatherspoon.

Sweets has to lose the weight. He's a professional now going into his 3rd year. He's 270lbs right now. He needs to lose 20 lbs. He has plenty of time to do so this summer before training camp. That would be the difference between him being a waste of our lives or a true anchor at the 4 spot for years to come.
