Remember how skinny this guy was during the final 4? He must have been 6-10, 215 pounds soaking wet. He had a workout with Phoenix on friday and what a difference he made. They said he grew an inch and is now 6-11 and 234lbs. We need to get Camby on his program because what a difference just two months made. They also said Jeffries showed a solid post game and had significantly improved every aspect of his game. There's a good chance Phoenix will take him with the 9th pick, but i wouldn't mind trading for LA's 12th pick if we could get him. Thoughts?

I don't understand why you'd want to trade down to pick him.. if Phoenix are likely to pick him at no. 9, why not just pick him with NY's no. 7?? Unless of course you're talking about getting LA's 12th pick in addition to NY's :).

Jefferies wouldnt be bad at #7 only if Layden were sure he can land Lamar Odom.

Having a frontline that consisted
of (C)6'11" (PF)6'11" (SF)6'10" would be off the chain.

Yeah i'm talking about getting him in addition to whoever we draft at #7. I wouldn't trade the 7th pick to move down, only to move up.

I don't consider 234 lbs massive for a 6'11" player. I'd rather have Wilcox or Gooden if he falls.

Yeah i would rather have both of them too, but the point is Jeffries is a pure SF who weighed 210 or 215 two months ago. 234lbs is huge compared to what we saw during march. I don't think we should take him with our 7th pick because there are other players we could use more. Gooden, Wilcox, Hilario, Butler just to name a few.

Gooden wont be there. If he happens to be there grab him. But I think only Wilcox or wagner will be there. Jefferies and Wilcox. Id probably go with Jefferies now. Because Jefferies is more tradable. Jefferies can play PF and SG I thought.

I can't see Jeffries at PF in the NBA. Wilcox owned in the NCAA's, Jeffries is best suited at SF, perhaps SG.

There's a chance Gooden will be available. You have Ming, Williams, Dunleavy, Wagner, Butler, Woods, maybe even Wilcox that could easily go in front of him. I think we need to pick either Gooden, Wilcox, or Hilario unless someone very unexpected dropped to us.

Eh, Camby was traded and most were on board with it because the guy hadn't been healthy in years and there was no sign that was ever going to change. Most fans were at wits end with the guy being hurt all the time.

As to Amare, well, plenty of teams passed on him. Do it over and he's picked 2nd, and Caron Butler 3rd in that draft, and Prince 4th...and Gooden 5th, etc, But hey, there's nothing you can do about that.

I was never on board with trading Camby :( he was one of my fav players I always thought he was under appreciated... He was so key in the 99 run. Plus trading him eventually turned into Marbury

I definitely wasn't onboard with it. I recall TMS and I simulatenously barfing at the trade. We give up the #7 and Camby so that we can have a 6'8" center, and then McKnee wound up being injured the entire season.

Not to mention Barfbury.....

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Almost that whole draft was disgusting.
