layden tried for years to get somebody in here via the MLE and all he really ended up with is spoon, and a just released deke.

isiah's MLE signings so far have been vin (did he even talk to anyone else last year), and james.

he got spurned by swift, and how knows who else.

if we give him credit or blast him for his signings, then we should also credit/blast him for non-signings.

he's always talking about the city selling itself. then why can't we get swift in here for the MLE when we talked to him BEFORE james?

for all the smooth talking he does, he can't get quality players to sign here for the MLE.

is it isiah or is he just targetting the wrong players?

If dudes don't wanna come here what can he do?

Swift wants to ride McGrady. McGrady dominates the ball so Swift would be out the spotlight. Marbs would have been feeding him just like he did Nazr and KT. Oh well.....

I'm quite sure Isiah has called all the free agents available as well as all the GMs in the league.

I never thought the Knicks could get a kid like Q.....Q has come to NY many times and just killed the Knicks inside and out.

The Knicks are getting closer and closer everyday to putting together something special.

Jesus, get off of Swift's jock. What has this guy done to make you salivate over him? I'd rather have Stephen Hunter b/c at least he has Center size. That said, I like neither of those guys. All flash, no substance. All athleticism, no fundamentals.

We're def. headed in the right direction. We need that one last player, a guy that can compliment Marbury perfectly. Personally, I'd like to see a package of Crawford and Timmy for a legit star...

(maybe Pierce --- ya, I know.....ya mothercrunkin right)

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Actually, getting Pierce would be an excellent move. He is a SF/SG that can play inside out and most of all, he knows how to take over a game especially in the second half. He would be the perfect complement for Marburry and Q.....He plays decent defense and he has an attitude....

? It take 2 to tango. The city is a big draw but the other player have to want to sign. Zeke can't do much about that.

That's one of the things I like about James - he's got a mean streak in him. I remember during the San Antonio series, he went up to the camera and said flat out "I don't go no respect for the Spurs. No respect." And just stormed into the locker room.

What we're missing in NY is a solid group of guys with an attitude, and a coach that can harness it in the right way...

James is hit or miss. did we overpay--absolutely--do teams win without real C like James--yes look at the Detroit Pistons

was Swift a better value than James-- absolutely

could swift have played C in the east? absolutely

To me, James is a gamble and he is older. Now he could pay off, but that remains to be seen. We DO Know that he has hardly produced other than 6-7 games in the playoffs, he is a foul machine that has not averaged more than 16 minutes for HIS CAREER and he has a TON of DNPs.
Now he is 7-1 275 with skills. I can understand where they were going with this, but it was RISKY and the better INVESTMENT was Swift.

Does that mean Swift would come here? we will never know

So we have James for 5mm its a reasonable gamble, but not without risk--did we overpay in years absolutely--but the knicks will always overspend we'll see

actually id rather have james alone then do some kind of crazy S+T for AW where we would give up picks sweetney take back contracts and give walker like 8mm per.

atleast we have realized tonight the demand for AW is false[no sht!] and his market value is 5mm per--

So, we now give Isiah heat for players not wanting to come to the knicks.

Now I've read everything.

I can understand that because I have felt the same way. But we can't scapegoat the GM of the Knicks or ANY team that a player makes a decision to go elsewhere. We have the money (for a Swift) but other things come into play beyond a GM's control. All you can do is show them the money and also express your heart felt interest.

Reef went to the nets? Oh...ok, how are we supposed to stop him from signing with the nets?

Sometimes you just have nothing to say at all.

I was on your side for a few weeks, but these whacky one sentence rants are weak.

We should have done something like what the Celtics did to screw us over when we tried to get Sheed.

You just can't let your rival in the division get superior talent at a bargain price.

And don't tell me Reef would pick Nets over Knicks. We never even went for him it seems. Why would anybody pick Nets over Knicks at equal money?

I know that this game is all about getting paid, but why in the world is Swift thinking that he is worth more than the MLE when he has yet to prove anything in this league????? I think that the time has come for teams to stop overpaying for scrubbs...

we only have 1 mle and so many roster spots--we cant dictate who signs where

so far i give isiah a b on this offseason, I think the draft grades out to an A-B+ taking on Q is a B and James wouldve been a B for 2 years since he was given 5 years he is a C+.

I wouldve rather done some different things in the draft, but I am very saitisfied with Frye and Nate, and hopefully Lee will surprise me in camp, or down the road.
