Well, now that we traded KT, we don't really have a defensive minded PF who can rebound do we?

Not to say that I think tradin for Gooden would be better then tradin for Q and Nate.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

well jeez how about JYD or Malik--they are both D minded PFs. Id rather take Ira Newble off their hands than Blount. If things dont workout, were not stuck with Blount and Walker.

Gooden isn't more attractive to Jerome James as far as I am concerned. I like him, but PF isn't a hole for us right now. Center is.

The article said cleveland would trade him for a defensive minded PF with strong rebounding and defense. That sounds like Jerome Williams or Mailk Rose. Money wise the trade could work, but they would want more for a young developing player like Gooden. They would want a pick or cash considerations.

Me too, but I'd try this first:
3-way with Cleveland & Milwaukee
Cleveland gets JYD and cash/pick
Milwaukee gets Drew Gooden.
NY gets Pachulia.

That would be great but i don't think Pachulia is a MLE player right now. He'd have to be Signed and traded by Milwaukee for 4 mill.

Why does everybody want us to get another PF instead of getting rid of one of them?

how about gooden & pick coming to us & Crawford/JYD or some combo

They need a PG- they get one in Crawford- they get the D from JYD- they're going a bit small with that deal. 07 pick?

I agree - Gooden is a good add. He's cheap. He rebounds like a mofo and he can score in the post.

Gooden and Newble for Sweets and JYD?

We'd have Gooden, Lee and Frye. Sign Hunter and that's a nice crew of long forwards and centers, plus Malik to play the role of pit bull.

remember that Cleveland is STILL under the cap, so they can absorb a little extra salary. I'd throw in the Spurs 06 number one pick with Sweets and JYD for Gooden and Newble.

supposedly they're getting that Lithuanian PG who kicked Marbury's butt. Sava Jaurasechqiaivkalus? I have no idea how to spell it, but he's blonde and 29 yrs old and quite good.

Sasha jaravicius or something like that.

I would definitely take on Gooden for JYD & the Spurs #1 pick. that would give us a frontline that can score inside and outside yes its weak defensively but hey it'd be better than what we have. Hunter would then come in handy for 15mins off the bench. We'd still have Sweetney and Butler too

Gooden would be a great option if we went in the direction of trading Marbury and briefly rebuilding. He would fit in nicely with the young core of Q, Crawford, and _____ (Harrington possibly).
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

We have moved on. I want to see if Sweets can fill the roll.

Actually, he gets full on rolls.

ah, never mind!

I wouldn't mind Drew...He is still young and could be a good addition only if we are willing to trade one of our PFs for him. Between Drew and Sweet, I think that Drew is much more talented and is a much better player...However, we will still need to get us a Center.

Briggs:

I still think you're not getting it.

Who we go trade for, who we sign, and who we trade away will all bank on a few things:

A) Who's coaching us come next year
B) If we can land a Legit Big in the near future
C) How Marbury figures into the short and longterm plans

getting a guy like pachulia would be good for one scenario, but not necessarily for another. once we find out who our next coach is (by next week I presume), then I think you'll be able to determine what direction we're going in and what players figure in to the team's short and longterm plans...
