again, don't EVER use the words:

"we"
"want"
and "walker" in the same sentence EVER again.

this would be an AWFUL move. AWFUL and one that reeks of desperation.

I agree, I don't get this fascination that Isiah has with Walker. It is starting to get real sickening actually. I mean I think Walker has good to great ability but he is also lacks any BB IQ and hasn't shown improvement. Since I moved to Atlanta, I went to several Hawk games and the guy doesn't have a cool. He chucks ball whenever he feels like it. 23, 22 seconds left on a clock. I think Blount is blue collar guy but you already have enough of those on your team.

It said something in one of the papers that the celtics were interested in Sweetney and Danny Ainge would only do a GOOD trade for Walker--if you add 2=2 look at the salaries for what we may pay walker? ouch 8-9mm? then we get add sweetney

danny ainge isnt stupid, hes going to put pressure on a team like the knicks

It says in the Post that Sweetney would be the main pawn.

Ill say this I wouldnt trade even value money walker for sweetney, no way. Let the young guys play. walker and starbury controlling the ball is AWFUL we will shoot 41% as a team- if we get walker look at the shooting % of our key guys

I don't understand how Walker fits in on a rebuilding team.

No way. stay the course and REBUILD!

I'd be pissed if he does an half-assed job of "rebuilding' and add junk like walker and blount. This team has to stop accepting other teams garbage for the sake of adding names. The mere fact of us having NATE THE GREAT will sell more tickets. If we can bring in Larry Brown and stick with developing youth & collecting picks, the result will follow. It's KARMA, man! No more of the vicious cycle. It's time to cut that ****.

if Isiah did pull the trigger on this trade it would prove that Isiah is nothing more than a good talent evaluator and we need a GM with a longterm plan that understands that you need to bring in the right kinda players to win. not marbury, crawford & TT.

hopefully the Post is making this up and Isiah has no interest in Walker

I don't like Walker, but I would do that trade. Walker is always a tradeable commodity, he's a really good player, although I would prefer he not be on the knicks. But signing him starting at 8-9 million for 4-5 years seems like a mistake. Blount is 7-0 and blocks and scores decently, he'd be a stop gap but his contract runs til 2010!!! Its only 7 mill at the end though, not horrible for a guy like him, and he is 7 feet and could give us about 20-25 mpg to balance out the roster.

I don't think Boston does it though, who plays center for them?
Perkins isn't ready for huge minutes and Raef is always hurt.

What I'm really saying is I hope boston doesn't do it.

How about "we" don't "want" any part of "walker"?

we added what looks like 4 good pieces through the draft in the last year. But when we trade we take everyone unwanted crp and it throws back in our face. if we are patient and let thinsg run its course, we can build a nice team. having convulsions on every expensive vet that is available--now turning into a big list--has proved to be stupid. lets be patient--maybe a LAC who dont have a number 1 pick next year, and may stink would be agreeable to a Sweetney a # 1pick+number 2 pick and ending contract at the break. I would be in favor of that, but if we do this deal, then we really get stuck hard. We essetially anoight walker the PF for years. i dont want that.
I dont know about you guys but I want to win a championship, not go 42-40 and a 7th seed. why cant we be patient here.
I think everyone agrees give isiah time to rebuild, give the young players PT and time--now we want immediate production from them, but that is reasonable--i put very little emphasis right now on W-L, the main thing for me is getting Frye squared away fundamentally on both sides--build parameters for him so he can play instinctively.

that's EXACTLY why he WOULDN'T be a tradeable commodity.

getting him would be a HUGE HUGE HUGE step backwards for this team.

I absolutely agree. Adding Walker would be a nightmare. No way, Zeke. Don't do it. Blount is a joke. He makes no sense next to Frye. Yuck.

I wonder if Isiah is talking to Walker's agent about this sign and trade scenario just to keep him in his good graces. Walker's agent also represents Stephen Hunter.

Also, Ainge has said that no has spoken to him about a Walker sign and trade, but I'm guessing that the agent would set up a trade and bring it to Danny.

The funny thing is that Walker would probably be the best player the Knicks had for many years. I remember games when the Knicks couldn't do anything with Walker. When he first got in the league he looked like a sure future HOF. M.L. Carr looked almost like a genius for constantly losing games.

Walker would be a bad move. It would be a return to the philosophy that brought us KVH and McDyess. Walker will never make an all-star team again. He'd put up numbers, but he can't guard a soul and shoots a horrible percentage. Starting Walker and Frye at the 4 and 5, as much as I have faith in Frye, would be a DISASTER. Frye needs to play next to someone who can play inside and help him on D.
