but Sweetney at 300LBS can't be counted on for 30mins making him tradeable.

Why we drafted Frye so high boggles my mind!

Sweets is definately still our best post up guy. Sweets would have ate up that Orlando team on the inside.

Still Mo Taylor is no slouch. I think Mo Taylor can come in a be a good player for us. Mo can score inside and out and put the ball on the floor. Plus dude has sneaky hops. I would give him a chance with Sweets......

KT is already gone so I would just roll with Mo and Sweets.....Rose and JYD are gonna be tough to move though.

Briggs finally says something I agree with. Im not in favor of trading Sweetney because he is our best low post scorer and our best offensive rebounder. Let him play 30 mins a game hes going ot put up great #s. Justs need to get in shape.

LOL, Briggs, you are all over on this. Why not trade Sweetney now. I thought he was only going to be a 6th man? I mean, just the other day you had him going to the Wizards to get back Kwame and Blatche.

I'd only be willing to trade Sweets if (and only IF) the right deal comes along that makes the team better. We just have alot of 4's to rotate.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

i think briggs made this post b/c he doesn't see anything out of frye from down low.

sweetney shouldn't be on the block anyway. if...if...if he gets his weight in check (anybody have any update on that?), then he's POISED to have a really really really good season, ESPECIALLY since he should be penciled in as the starting PF and USED as the starting PF.

I have already posted that I wouldn't trade him for Kwame, but my guess is that Briggs's point is that the Knicks have no one else who can board.

I don't want to trade Sweetney either because I believe he can be a dominating post player but what really bothers me is that he was unable to even compete in SL due to "weight issues" That's a five alarm fire. I mean how much more weight did this guy put on since late April? The Knicks from all accounts seem really concern about his weight issue. I seen this guy eat in person, and he really cleans plates. This is a summer where you would expect him to hire a trainer to get ready to play for his contract year. Yet he isn't even ready for SL action! And second I am not real concern about Frye's post game because I think he will be a player who will get stronger as he age, and will go to the free throw line alot. Besides Mo Taylor's post game is similar to Sweetney, the problem with Mo is that he makes alot more money than Sweets.

if we can trade Sweetney for Kwame we have Q, Ariza & Lee to make up the rebounds. We still can get someone for TT.

That Marc Berman article about Swift. Sweetney's refusal to play in SL and his weight issues.

...We still can get someone for TT.

Sup guns...

That's the second thread where you mentioned that. Who would you want to see TT moved for? Seems like you may already have an idea about this.

IMO we should just let his contract expire. This is his contract year, so maybe he'll play good enough for us to get more for him @ the deadline if the opportunity presents itself.

Dude, you were the guy going crazy on antoine wright, antoine wright BPA antoine wright BPA, i agree with you that we shouldnt have taken Frye but you seem to bounce back and forth to players like the flavor of the day. Antoine Wright was a mid 30% shooter and had 1 breakout year. He tested very poorly in the combine and didnt exactly look like the BPA at 8. Id rather have Frye than Wright that is for sure.

You cant say i wanted 9 guys for goodnes sakes! We have frye and we may need to keep Sweetney for now and see how it works out because Frye is on the perimeter to much. That leaves us with only Taylor and Sweetney in the box. If one guy goes down, OUCH.

One thing that I think they should do with frye is what JC did with CV-stay within 5 feet from the basket and dont shoot a three unless you are wide open and spotted up. Frye has good touch, so he needs to stay near the basket to use that jump hook and draw fouls. I didnt catch the first half, but all I saw was one post up that didnt look to swell adn a blocked 3, and a few times where for some reason he had the ball beyond the 3 pt line

forget this rasheed wallace BS compariosn, just stay close to the basket and use your touch. We dont need a 6-11 guy shooting 3s.

I took Wright off that list a long time ago. it was bynum, green, granger or graham. I would've loved to land anyone of those guys over Frye

Briggs, earlier this week you were advocating Sweets and Malik for Kwame and Blatche. What made you change your mind? I agree that Sweetney is one of our best and only back to the basket guys, MoT and TT being the others - neither of whom I like as much as Sweets. But still, I don't see him as being a starter in this league. Do you?
