Greg Ogden would be my dream center for the Knicks. He's already committed to Ohio State University.

we need to be in the lottery- and this is why I would trade Marbury- I can't imagine us being bad enough in 2007 to have a shot at these guys.

we almost had a shot at Bogut if we didn't blow by playing Marbury 50minson bad knees in order to beat others teams 3rd unit

We need 2007 draft picks, especially from teams that we project to have a bad year. Yeah, thats not that easy, but you roll the dice. You get another team's 07 and along with yours it could turn into a lottery pick. Get a 07 pick now from one of the perennial losers and you get the reward in the future. Its clear that we still need centers, and even if Isiah sees Frye at C and I have no problem with that, just imagine if we could draft one of these guys and pair him with a 3 year veteran Frye?

Martin and/or Andrew - please sticky this thread. Any and all 2006/2007 Center prospects discussion should be continued in this single thread...

That's what I saw last year... although if it's true that IT would have picked Frye #1 anyway... it doesnt really matter - except now Marbury's knees are more shot and his ankles are more crushed...

Overall though, I was most impressed with Brandon Wright - who seems like he's gonna be one bad mother... anyone got the dish on this kid?

Greg Oden expected to be #1. I think Briggs has talked about him. What's his scouting report?

Is he worth of trading Marbury, let the young players grow but at the same time be in the lottery for a couple of seasons?

i spoke about him too. supposedly the NEXT dominant center and the next big NBA thing before OJ Mayo hits - in whenever like 2009 due to the 19 year old age thing

But that's for 2007. If we can't make the playoffs this next season of if we aren't playing very good before the All Star Break or trade deadline, we may end up trading Marbury and committing ourselves to rebuilding. Maybe then, in 07, we stink so much that we get that pick. It would be great to finally have Ewing's succesor...

they've shown some of Oden's JUNIOR year in HS games on ESPN. he's going to be very good. He's already 7'1" 250 or so and agile and silky smooth in the post. he's pretty much unguardable on the high school level. ya know, the age limit isn't a good thing for some kids, but I'm actually really curious to see what Oden can do in college for a year. It should be good. He's still a year away from Ohio though.
