What can we expect from Trevor Ariza in 2 years?

There is no doubt about it. The best thing for the Knicks this season was Trevor Ariza and his rapid growth. There isnt much else positive we saw in games after the month of January. He showed real promise with his development at the age of 19. I want to know what knick fans think about Ariza's future. Where do we expect him to be in 2 years? 2 years is when our #8 pick should be ready to contribute and also when Houston's contract is done.

I voted for average SF. I dont think his play will develop much beyond that. I think his potential will allow him to only get that far. He will have great games but I dont think he will do that consistently.

I said 12/6-8, but I love Trevor's D. I think that he will be a little better than decent and more towards a defensive stopper.

Thank God for Ariza. I don't think I would have made it through the year without him.

I didn't vote b/c I didn't think he'd be any of them. Maybe 14 and 6 with a steal and a block per game and very good defense. But the stats wont tell the story about him. To me, he's comparable to Tayshawn Prince, except he has to work on his jumper, mid range and long distance. He's an energy player. Like you said, he'll have huge games, stat wise at times, but it's the energy, defense and that extra option he brings on the court that's important. He has a couple of moves right now, so lets just see what he does with it.

I voted 16/8 but if trevor does that, he would be considered better than good, to me that would be in the upper echelon of SF's in the league...

I think he could put up 16 ppg. It depends on his jumper, our coach, and how our style of play develops. But I would say he could easily get 16ppg off of slashing to the basket and getting to the line, and hitting open jumpers.

I voted Good SF 16/8 because of many things. One, he did great things in his first season and we saw constant improvement. Imagine what will happen with two seasons under his belt! Two, we will psobably make him our starting SF in two years. Tim Thomas will be gone, so will Hardaway. Barring a trade for a veteran or picking up a SF in the draft, I think he will be our starter in the future. Three, if he did a lot with little playing time last season, imagine when he sees more time, hopefully as a starter. But one thing I have to say, his value may be more than the points and rebounds he gets. He brings so much to the table! I surely expect him to keep improving every season...

It all depends on the PT he gets. The more the better. Last year he should have been getting 25 a night.

actually this is true. I should have mentioned that he should be getting 25-30 mins a game.

Trev Reezy!!!

I think he should at least be able to copy the performance Josh Howard had. He's gonna be hitting the weights with strength trainers and playing highly compeditive ball now that he has his feet wet in the NBA.

Hopefully he starts and puts up 12pts, 7rebs and 2 assists at least. Josh Howard and Richard Jefferson are fair comparisons. Hopefully, hopefully, hopefully he blossoms in a similiar fashion and one day becomes a reliable scorer and overal player in this league.

What can we expect from Trevor Ariza in 2 years?
That he'll be an all-star on the Phoenix Suns? I just wanted to try taking the perspective of a couple of other posters for a minute.

But serious, I voted for 16/8. I don't know if his rebounds will be that high. I think the rebounds were inflated in all of the poll options. But at the age of 19, he put up 11/4 as a rookie starter for about a dozen games and put up 10/5 in the 30 games where he had at least 20 mpg. I don't think 15/6 with good defense is a stretch at all by the time he's in his third season.

He will be good but he wont be a star player on the Knicks. Glad to have him though.

i think he will be an average small forward in the league. i don't see him being an all star or anything like that

and i love the kid. but let's be serious he can't shoot too well to avg. 20 per game.

Are you saying you think he'll be a star on another team or are you saying that you think he'll remain on the Knicks but just won't be a star? The former seems hard for me to understand. I think Isiah will do whatever he can to re-sign the kid he drafted.

12pts
6-7rebs
good defense
camby-like intangibles

very nice NBA player. like allanfan20 said, a very valuable player who you have to look past the stats to see what he brings to the overall intensity level of the team.

Me HEART Reezy!

Out of the 24 people that voted, 11 think he will turn into a good SF. 9 voted for average SF and I guess thats only because its to early to say something as positive as "Good SF" about him. Its safe to say that we (as of right now after his rookie year) think Ariza will be an above average SF.

That means that majority of the fans think Ariza is our SF of the future. I'm glad everyone thinks he will be a hustle and high intensity player. Looks like our SF spot is covered.

I'm late to this poll.

Silver you know i voted him EXCELLENT!

Reezy will get stronger and that will make a world of difference for him. You saw what Iguodala could do last year because of his strength? Pretty impressive. But there are lots of skills that Reezy possesses that Iggy doesn't, and once Reezy gets his strength up, oh man, watch out, excellent will definitely be the word for his game.
