While no Knick is untouchable, not even Marbury, it seems that people are on a Bash Jamal crusade. So, the question is- can and should Jamal be traded? I can't see too many teams being interested in him if we're already giving up on him.

Trade Jamal as part of a package if you can get good value for him

No team will be foolish enough to accept him in a trade

Keep bim, he can develop into an excellent starting 2 guard

Keep him, but we need to move him to the combo guard off the bench at the 1&2

I'm somewhere between the last two. I have no problem being patient with Jamal. It's not like some bad 3s are going to cost the Championship in the next few years. Besides, we all knew he was a project when we got him.
I think he will make a a solid starter, not excellent, but solid. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a 6th man role either.

Don't look to dump him. I still think he can be a very good player, albeit one that has a good deal to learn. But if the right trade package comes along I wouldn't hesitate.

Ditto. It all depends on what another team is willing to bring to the table.

Marbury is great, has all-world talent, and absolutley fearless at atacking the hoop. Crawford is nowhere near Marbury, cept maybe in 3pt accuracy and some flair in his passing game. But the attibute in Crawford that you have to like over Marbury is that with Marbury, you feel like almost no coach is going to have the authority to get thru to him. Jamal Crawford, on the flipside seems genuinely interested in listening to his coaches instructions and making alterations to his game for the betterment of the Knicks. The indictment on lenny Wilkens was that he didn't tell Jamal enough to mix up his game, not be such a chukker etc... he was willing to let Jamal shoot his way into it and that's not exactly what you want to tell a Basketball baby in terms of BBall IQ and experience. Jamal Crawford has had shockingly litte coaching, discount his years with the baby bulls, he had a year of college where i believe he missed half that season, and two years of HS ball. So he's had 2.5 years of coaching before joining the NBA..

That's why I vote to keep him, as a combo sg/pg utility player off the bench. The Yankess always have one of those backup infielders who can do it all, think Luis Sojo..

Jamal was supposed to be the 4th or 5th option when he was traded for:
Marbury, Houston, TThomas, Jamal, KT

Instead, we relied on him as our #2 option, and he took way too many shots. He shoulda been on the bench learning from watching AH, but thats not how this season unfolded.

Keep him. tho If he could be dealt for Maggette, i may change my mind.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.
