Now that everyone has weighed in, we may as well throw it to a poll... What are we to make of Isiah in the first 16 months on the job?

well, the choices are pretty slim, so if I had to go in one direction (yes, you have to choose one or the other) I'd have to say genius because I definitely watch and attend more games (and check stats and standings) now than I did 16 months ago...so, I gotta go with genius.

The Knicks are younger, more attractive, and have a plan....By next season, if we can acquire the players that we really need, we will be a force to reckon with....Isiah has only been here for 1 year. Let's not forget what he has inherited...Houston has been on the injured list since Isiah got here....

Exactly, can you amend the poll?

My vote is for an "incomplete."

hey... I ammened my original statement that Isiah had added to the disaster, not that he is the cause of it persay.

So far to me Isiah has had one genius move and thats Ariza.

Crawford and Marbury were move that made sense but no genius was involved.

Moochie, TT and Nazr were a total wash

Baker signing was a total waste of money and a roster spot.

Brewer, Bruno added nothing

Butler is to be determined but like Dermaar Johnson was good thinking regardless of outcome.

Rose and Taylor are somewhere between bad and terrible, depending on what day of the week it is.

My Isiah grades:
for upgrading talent B-, but a solid draft could jump this to an A
for maintaining flexibility: F, we have little or no options for a couple years. We are in a hole
for use of resources available: D, considering how much $$$ he took on I would expect better players or picks coming back.

Overall: C-

Let me say NOBODY is rooting for him more than me. I hope he turns genius this June when the draft rolls around... lord knows we need. So far though, no genius.

I'd say C+ not quite a B since the results have been bad

The only reason I will give him a C is because of the hiring of Lenny. He tried to bring us a couple of big names or bodies, but the teams around the league are so jealous of him and the Knicks they refused to deal. C, also because he failed to move Kurt Thomas....

Incomplete until at least one or two years from now.

I laugh at the contradiction some people have when they say they are patient enough to rebuild but they aren't patient enough to give Isiah more than two half seasons, but I do realize that you and Briggs and most other critics want the Knicks to win.

I don't know how to amend it...dang.

Maybe this was a stupid poll...sorry.

Well, unless there is a tie tonight, we're in for a quality session...

sorry for hte limited choices, I just thought it was cool that those to topics keep rising back to the top...though, the genius topic has picked up steam (even though it's not like everyone that posts agrees with the topic).

Man oh man...I'm a bit confused on the expiring contract thing.

Is it an option for the knicks to let penny and Tim play out the string unless we get overwhelmed with an offer at the trading deadline?

don't worry, the poll gave me a good laugh.

hmm... until the last set of trades i would have gone with the + side without even thinking about it. now, i think we may be overreacting to mo t and rose moves, and we do have to wait for the summer to see what develops. given the choices, i vote genius, but IT's started to get me worried a little bit...

C'mon fish.mike - "between bad and terrible" is a tad strong don't you think?

Gonna have to sadly say a disaster. He's added a hell of a lot of money to the payroll without improving the record. We still have no Center, no defensive players and no direction, and are undersized at every position. Lenny was horsesh!t for a coach, but no coach is currently going to do any miracles with this team. Then there's Gazy who's improved, but is still crap. Crawford too has an insanely long contract, yet is still so far away from eliminating the fundamantal flaws in his game. Marbury is quality player, but with absolutely no supporting cast he is simply eating money from the Dolans. Right now it is a disaster. Rebuilding was the way to go, and really is the quickest way to get us out of this mess, but that won't happen under the moronic owner's watch. We're in a hole, and it will have to take a miracle for Isiah to pull us out of it.

NYK - it ain't your money

We still have no Center, no defensive players and no direction, and are undersized at every position.

NYK - such drama and hysterics. YOu ever thought about acting on Broadway?

Lenny was horsesh!t for a coach, but no coach is currently going to do any miracles with this team.

NYK - you said that to say what?

Then there's Gazy who's improved, but is still crap.

NYK - no player who weras orange and blue is crap.. Well maybe Shadon Andserson... but that's it

Crawford too has an insanely long contract,

NYK - it ain't your money

yet is still so far away from eliminating the fundamantal flaws in his game.

NYK - stop it, you're killin ' me

Marbury .. is simply eating money from the Dolans.

NYK - are you a Dolan?

Right now it is a disaster.

NYK - the ship be floatin'

Rebuilding was the way to go, and really is the quickest way to get us out of this mess,

NYK - how long did rebuilding take the Chicago Bulls or Atlanta Hawks?

We're in a hole, and it will have to take a miracle for Isiah to pull us out of it.

NYK - okay, you win. we're dead.

NYK - it ain't your money

Of course, but it's my favorite team and the money situation makes it very difficult to do better. So I care.
NYK - such drama and hysterics. YOu ever thought about acting on Broadway?

Might be better than following the circus at MSG.
NYK - you said that to say what?

You can put the best coach in the league in charge, and we'll still suck because the personnel is the problem.
NYK - no player who weras orange and blue is crap.. Well maybe Shadon Andserson... but that's it

Nope. This team is full of crap players right now. Penny, Gazy, Sundov, and Jackson to name a few.
NYK - it ain't your money

It's my team who can't get better without flexibility.
NYK - stop it, you're killin ' me

Perhaps because the truth hurts?
NYK - are you a Dolan?

Nope, but see above.
NYK - the ship be floatin'

The ship is rudderless.
NYK - how long did rebuilding take the Chicago Bulls or Atlanta Hawks?

Chicago didn't make the right decisions and Atlanta's owners are stingy as hell.
NYK - okay, you win. we're dead.

No we're not. Just in a hole.
