Not exactly, I'm rooting for Sweetney and Ariza to get the big minutes. Anything else doesn't matter to me quite at this point.

This is quite a tricky situation for Knicks fans. The team obviously needs a massive infusion of new blood and talent, but at the same time how can one possibly root against a team that they've been supporting all their life?

I admit I am stuck in the middle right now. Every game I seem to flip-flop. The CBA is obviously to blame. If not for it, we'd might be able to buy ourselves out of this mess. Or at least, relieve ourselves of some of the massive wastes of space we are carrying.

I wont hide it, I want them to lose. It should be so painful for them to lose so much, especially when they are close games. The thing is that, there was a time when I wanted them to win and they couldn't do better than lose. Then there was a time when I expected them to lose but as a fan wanted them to win. I still thought the season could be saved. Now, I really want them to lose but with effort. Play the young guys, try new lineups, rest Marbury, trade KT. Why do I want them to lose big? Im tired of the same Knicks team that isn't too good to win and/or make the playoffs nor isn't too bad to have a top pick. No, If we are taking one direction, lets make the best out of it. Bring NY the #1 pick! That will help! I want the best for this team and wins will not make it. Last season they won in the second half and made the playoffs. That resulted in a sweep and this desastrous season. Too many losses for me to feel good about a win.

I want this team to have a big win, winning the lottery of the NBA Draft. That will be a great win! And that will probably lead us to more in the future. So, yeah, I want this team to lose now, I admitt it, because I want this team to have a better future. No more mediocre seasons!

I'm stuck in the middle too. While I'm watching the games live, I can't bring myself to root against the team. But after they lose, I figure it at least might help us get a higher pick and either draft or trade for a star to play alongside Marbury

I don't get to see them live anymore... That helps...

that's exactly how i feel too...i'd be happy whether they won or lost if Sweetney & Ariza showed good improvement over the next few weeks.

i'm watching fewer games which is making it easier for me to handle wanting them to lose. when i watch i can't help but roort for them but quickly get over losses and go back to the lottery rationalization.

just what i needed - another source of psychic conflict to add to the mental minefield of trying to stay sane on a daily basis!

haha exactly the psychic conflict I'm faced with during every Knicks game. Definitely not good for our health lol but the draft will be very rewarding!

I think most people who covet the quick fix have finally realized that, at this point, rebuilding through the draft is the QUICKEST way to get better. So sad.

at this point I want losses and nothing but. I've always been dead set against not doing everything you can to win, but we have a situation here we can take advantage of. Rather than squeeking out 37 or 38 wins lets try to get an extra pick or two via trade and play the kids after the deadline. Start Ariza, Sweetney, Crawford and get Jamal some time at the point. Look to retool over the offseason and you can make smarter moves based on what you see from Ariza and Sweetney.

Losing begets losing. I don't think tanking is a good idea. The players should play to win. The coaches should coach to win. The fans should cheer for wins.

What are you rooting for? a magical 35 win season where they EKE into the 8 seed? They'd have to play .500 ball to win 35 games at this point? a magical 38 win season where they EKE a pathetic division title?

Do you realize that to get BACK to .500 they would have to finish the season 21-9? 21-9!!!! 21-9 to get to 41-41. The team is 20-32, sixth worst in the NBA. The losses have been heartbreaking, but the season is over.

Come on, the playoffs are not happening. The Celtics are better. The Sixers are better. The Nets are better, and one of them will likely MISS the playoffs. The best thing for this Knicks team is to play hard but lose and get a good draft pick.

I'm not rooting for miracles. It's beyond that anyway. You're the one rooting for miracles if you think getting a top 3 pick is realistic.

All I'm saying is that rooting to lose is for losers. It's just dumb. Why don't we just tank it every year there's a top shelf rookie coming out? In 5 years we'll have a lineup full of #1 picks! It's stupid.

If you want to see them lose that's cool. I'd prefer that our guys learn how to win. I rather see the team develop a winning attitude then tank. I don't care if we fight hard and miss the playoffs by one game.

The Knicks are 6th right now. If they fall to 5 getting a top 3 pick is completely realistic (in fact Hou was #5 the year they won and drafted Yao)

It's easy to find one example, but statisticall, it's probably very unlikely. I don't know the # of ping pong balls each team gets off-hand, though.
