Im thinking Bud but put Bryant. Not into the Giannis thing. Bud our Joe Torre?
Erman had run with Maine Claws of GLeague but came to knicks after. Perhaps with Hardy and Mazzula there was little room up. Very long shot but not a shocker.
Calipari a buddy of Leon. He coached KAT for one season but thats not enough. Not my choice.
Jay Wright would be great. But for reasons posted doubtful.
Jalen Brunson gets input. I doubt his dad gets the gig or wants it. Way too much **** that goes with it and he not qualified. He barley is as associate head coach!
Udoka and Kidd are great choices, but they got gigs. Unless Rockets go Royal Ivy and get KD and let Ime walk.
Zach Lowe called Brown a "Floor lifter" like Thibs. Good coach. Not a championship one.
Im ambivalent about Malone. He did not go with yoot like Thibs.

I think they get their guy in Kidd. I think damage is done with Kidd and that organization and we probably send them 3-4 2nds and cash.

Kidd is ballsy and not one to shy away from a power move. He did this in BKN to get himself to MIL IIRC. If a coach doesn’t want to be there the organization is stupid to keep him. I think they get it done.

Kidd or Bryant....I think Kidd is #1 option but if Dallas doesnt give us permission to speak to Kidd, Bryant will get the job

My gut says Johnnie, and part of the reason everything happened so quickly being due to the Phoenix search.

At the same time, I would be surprised taking this roster and handing it to a 1st year head coach.

Just please not Kidd. I felt dirty enough having the wife beater for his 1 year with Melo.

Ha. Read him as a top 5 on some article.
What about LBJ?!

I didn’t even think about the fact that Knicks stole the Mavs training staff last year too.

Not so sure that Brunson being tight with a coach going in is the best thing. Maybe Brunson needs a less cozy situation. Someone who is seen as more impartial.

Why wouldn’t it be a good thing? Brunson has proven to be a culture shifter and ultimate leader. This isn’t something where you need someone impartial. You need someone who echos all of brunsons qualities and gets everyone else to buy in. If you were concerned about Brunson’s character or leadership qualities in any way, then sure you go for someone who can challenge him. But right now we are getting everything we could ever ask for from him, so we should be catering to him. With the money he gave up, build with his best interests in mind.

Nah this is all wrong. Your best player being tight with the head coach is huge. Everyone's favorite Knicks team - last years team - was 12 Tom Thibs and that's why its the team we believed in the most. 12 players playing with the same philosophy and effort level for every ****ing minute. It would have worked IMO.

We couldn't keep that team together. This year wasn't as Thibsy of a team and thats why it didnt always work.

The only quality that I find lacking in Brunson's leadership, is a willingness to make a concerted effort to get his teammates going. Consistently.

Not spending as much time dribbing away the shot clock. The numbers are misleading becuase they dont chart the passing opportunities missed.

As I pointed out in another thread, Haliburton enjoys getting his teammates involved. I believe its one of the reasons they are in the Finals and the Knicks arent.

My concern is that a coach who is very friendly with Brunson, who have a history together. Might not want to upset that relationship. Id rather see the FO hire a coach who has no relationship to upset. Who will build one through their work together. Who the team believes wasnt hired to keep JB happy.

Going with this and forgot about Kidd getting himself to Bucks.

Posted elsewhere Bobby Marks indicated it wouldn't be hard for him to get to Knicks if he desired it. Said it would be a conversation with Nico Harrison and potentially a couple of 2nd rounders to Mavs.
