I say yes. He plays hard, gets the Triangle, is valuable if he's hitting his shots, and can handle long stretches where he doesn't get minutes. Perfect 11/12th man. I've been impressed with his play down the stretch.

I have always said to keep him on the roster as the 13th man. He's not any good, but provides leadership, toughness, triangle knowledge, and mentor-ship for KP. Just don't play him unless there are a lot of injuries.

He can't make a shot. If he made 43% from the field and 40% from 3, he would be the man. He's shooting 36% fg and 34% from 3... otherwise his stats, energy and ability to defend and initiate offense are all excellent.

He's shot a little better the second half of the season.

I'm not in love with his lack of consistency, but he does enough good things to keep him around, IMO.

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

I'm voting keep him, with the caveat that we might need his roster spot. We need to upgrade the back court, and we may need to gamble a lot with players that could develop - so Sasha is a gamer, gets the triangle (I think this is the issue) and occasionally looks amazing.

Sasha is a goon too... he's always prepared to play and if we need someone to come in and **** **** up just for the sake of being a jerk, he's that guy. We just need players ahead of him that that ate better and assure he never plays heavy minutes for us again.

Post All-Star break he's shooting 43% from the field and 43.8% from 3pt range and 90% FT. If he can keep up those numbers next season, he goes from being a solid end of bench guy to a player of actual real value.

I'd bring him back as part of the coaching staff. Not a player

LOL. It's pretty hard to make it in the NBA if you can't make 40% of your 2-point shots. That said, his other numbers are OK (rbs, assists). For the league min as a 15th man, he can come back.

I think he should be brought back as a 11th/12th man off the bench. He's actually one of our better defenders on the team which is pitiful but true. He loves to get on the other players nerves which messes their game up.

Not a question that can be answered yet - Sasha's an end-of-the-offseason kind of move if you do bring him back, once you sort through the draft and the rest of free agency.

We don't have a draft pick as of today, but we've picked up an extra 5 picks in the past 2 drafts since Phil took the reigns (once you look back and assign a number to it, it's kind of a holy crap moment). Needs to be seen what Phil can do on the phone this summer, what prospects go undrafted, how we use our cap space, and how Grant and Wroten looks in the summer and training camp. I don't expect us to be stagnant with the backcourt. That roster spot could be valuable in October.

That said, I'm a hypocrite and voted yes.

Anyone who shoots off balance 19 footers is going to shoot poorly, plus he gets inconsistent minutes and hardly ever looks in rhythem. I just think the coaching staff did a really bad job managing the rotation.

Sasha is a 15th man and they jerked him around like a call up

The guy is a pest on defense, but at least he tries. He is not afraid to take the shot. With consistent minutes, his shooting gets better. He's also a friend to his team mates, particularly KP and Melo. As a low cost bench player, who understands the Triangle he can find his niche.

Why not? If we go all out and sign Mike Conley, Afflalo opts out or is sent to a team with capspace as part of a salary dump, Sasha is a cheap player to sign who knows the offense well, gives good effort.

Lopez/O'Quinn/Hernangomez
Porzingis/Williams
Anthony/Thomas
Vujacic/Grant/Galloway
Conley/Calderon/Wroten

Would need Lance to re-sign within a 4M$ a year deal, Williams to sign a deal no more than 6M$ a year deal, and Conley to sign a deal starting at 20M$ a year.

I sort of hate to say it - but a silver lining of Lance's injury might be that we can get him for cheaper than we might have otherwise.

Lance Thomas played pretty well this year. The scary part is over rating what we have on an already bad team.
