Time to put it out there for the last time. Assuming Towns, Okafor, and Russell are gone, and we stay put at #4, who is the pick?

I still think we end up with WCS. I could be wrong but I just get the feeling that he brings that much needed defensive presence this team needs more than anything. I think in the end Phil will keep coming back to that. Having a great help defender who you don't have to beg to give 110% on the defensive end is a major plus for any team. He's got the size and raw offensive ability that says he still has upside but his bust potential is super low. You know you're getting an elite defensive big. IMO that's half the battle in the NBA.

I voted Porkins. He had a private workout with the Knicks where they put him through some athletic drills so they know exactly what kind of motor he has. His English is better than mine (ok not saying much). He's a gym rat. I dont think he's nearly the development project some think. This is not a kid who's played in the Euro youth leagues. He played 20mpg with men last year. At 7 feet with that ridiculous wingspan and that range on his jumper Im pretty sure he will have a role prety quickly. Everything about this kid screams hard worker as well. The more Ive read about him and his family and his career the more comfortable I am with him at #4 over everyone else.

Seems like the people have spoken

EnySpree: Can we agree to agree not to mention Phil Jackson and triangle for the rest of our lives?

Still have a gut feeling that Russell will be there at 4, but who knows.

I want Stein

Thank God Fisher is no longer our coach, now let's get Calderon out of here:)

I think we are taking Porzingis. There seems to be a lot of smoke in this area.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

probably winslow, wcs has a bad foot and has endurance issues , seems like knicks may be cool with galloway running point guard

The more and more I think about Mudiay the more and more I get amped. Having a guard that can penetrate off the dribble and pass like he can, is such a valuable asset that the Knicks have desperately been missing. As of right now, there isn't one player on the Knicks with the speed and driving ability that he has. Get a couple decent shooters in free agency, and we'll have a solid squad.

I believe 90-95% that we are drafting Stein with either pick #4 or down to 7.

If phil picks stein at 4 he might as well resign. Nothing against stein but he is compared to tyson chandler which is fine for a playoff team who is a contender but we need a impact player. Also his injuries concern me

I believe your about 25% accurate with this, so that brings our actual WCS draft likelyhood to 17% with a +/- of 3% for error adjustments

willey stein

Said one scout to DraftExpress: “There is some maintenance that needs to be done there, as it’s not completely clear whether the injury healed in a proper way. The pin that was inserted is supposed to be sitting at a 90 degree angle, but instead it’s at 45 degrees. That, plus some question marks about his background that came up could cause him to drop a few slots.”

stein has this problem as well

When asked about how he might have posted a triple-double if he played more minutes, Cauley-Stein said, "I was having a sickle cell problem. My chest starts to hurt."

Apparently, it's a recurring issue.

"Some days, just randomly, I've had real bad chest pain," he said. "I can't, like, breathe and my heart rate won't come down. I have to stop and wait for it to come down."

Cauley-Stein said he does not take medication to treat the sickle cell trait.

Does the Knicks pick...
Justice Winslow a leader, a true competitor and hard worker who has elite defensive skills, good passer, high IQ player, good 3 point shooter but however would have to make the change to a SG and work hard to learn how to create his own shot or....

Do we pick Porzingis...
The super athletic 4/5 with a really nice touch, post skills, and a great passion for bball, but however still needs to develop and get strong and would have to deal with the likelyhood of getting teared to shreds by the media if he dosen't deliver quickly not to mention he does not show any evidence that he is a good enough passer for the triangle or..

Do we draft Willie Stein
An elite defender who can defend pick and roles, has potential to be a shooter but has to deal with his "sickle cell injury" and conditioning issues OR

Do we draft Mudiay
the athletic guard with great passing and drving skills but can't shoot and plays in a league that has a bunch of tall chinese dudes that don't play a lick of defense

The Future is Bright!

My preference if straight picking at #4, no trade down:

1) Russell/Okafor, in that order, if he drops (not likely)
2) Porzingis
3) Mudiay
4) Hezonja/Winslow

Voted Porzingis.

Can't pick Kaminsky or Stein at #4, only swing for fences. If targeting Stein, Lyles, Kaminsky or other solid role player, trade down and get NBA player in return with pick 6-16.
